It's funny that some of you question Mayweather's leverage when Canelo, Khan, Pacquiao and Golovkin are still talking about wanting to fight him, even though he's retired and not even affiliated with the network that they fight on. Use your brains and ask yourself how any of them would get a Mayweather fight not on Mayweather's terms when he has all of them and all other welterweights to choose from? Stop letting De La hoya play with your mind and emotions.
Without fcking question

fighters should really just forget about floyd. if he's retired then let him be. dont give floyd any of the attention he's been seeking for. i like what oscar did here. who does floyd think he is? if more fighters would just ignore floyd, then floyd is gonna have to need these fighters more IF floyd plans to return. floyd cant return and make that 9 figure pay day if no fighters is willing to entertain a match with him.
Ain't nobody turning down a floyd fight.
Dude is 39, might as well fight him.Comment

Last year when people floated the idea of Floyd fighting on CBS even Floyd's own team said it was unlikely because it's too hard to pull together enough advertisement dollars for a fight like that to pay Floyd's normal purse requirement. And it takes much longer to sell even half that much money in advertisements. the normal 3 months ahead of the actual fight time frame that exists for most of these fights won't work on Network TV you would need 6 months or more to pull advertise money. There is a reason why Floyd and the other big fighters fight on PPV because that's where the money is. Networks can't afford to pay those kinds of purses. Last year when PBC was fresh and new was the time to do this if it was ever possible but it didn't make sense dollar wise last year and now with a full year of bad TV ratings makes even less sense now.Manny took a paycut because he had to. Floyd has a completely different deal than Manny has with TR.
Also, you are forgetting that CBS can pay Floyd $35 mil to fight on their network without batting an eye. NO PPV needed.
I appreciate your passion but just accept the fact that Floyd is much bigger than anyone in the sport and his paydays and purse split percentage will reflect this no matter who he fights.
So sure he could fight on CBS but not for no 35m. And if he fights again on PPV hard to justify paying him the same amount of money when the PPV revenue for Mayweather fights has dropped.Comment
