I absolutely love Spence, but why the double standard?

A 26 year old however, who some people were curious about how he would look against an Algieri-level fighter, taking on his first test, is a whole different story.

Get used to it. The more Spence grows and beats higher level opponents, the more praise he will get, because he is YOUNG, not 34 years old.

And please stop making GGG out to be a victim. He is ranked as #2 P4P by ESPN, #3 P4P by Ring, #5 P4P by TBRB, #1 ranked MW by Ring, and finally absurdly ranked 1 of 25 of the best fighters in the last 25 years. So stop acting like this, please.
Algieri level fighter? What the **** is that? Stevens, Lemieux and a host of others are much better p4p than Algieri.

People loved GGG just as much when he first began dispatching Algieri level fighters like that. We learned something new about Spence. He utterly destroyed his best opponent to date.

If Spence is still fighting Algieri level fighters in 4 years, he'll have the same hate.

But here is the double standard. GGG has been looking sensational for the last few years in dispatching opponents. Fighting from the outside, inside, going upstairs, going downstairs, cutting off the ring, using array of punches but yet people say GGG is a hype job, over rated, he is nothing but Kelly Pavlik or Arthur Abraham.

I don't get it? Help me understand the logic?
because ggg is 34 years old and 34 fights in and has been pro since 2006 and still hasn't fought opposition in his own division any better than the equivalent of chris algeri in the welterweight division and spence is a prospect that just turned pro in 2012 the same year he fought in the olympics.

But he skill is there man. He has gone up against big punchers like lemule and his has the tools he just needs Can't-Nelo to grow a pair and fight him so we can see that GGG is the real thing

              Short answer is age.

One is 8 years older and has like 3-4 good years left it him, the other is a 26 year old that has 10+ good years ahead of him.

One has been a pro since 2006 and the other has been a pro since late 2012, if in 2020 Spence is still fighting Algieri level opponents then he will get the same criticism GGG is getting right now, I expect however that if Spence finds out he's getting ducked at 147 which is very probable, he won't sit there, cry about it, and try to pick up vacated paper titles, he will just move up in weight to get the fights he has to get to make himself a star, GGG has proven that he's not a risk taker despite his old age and low popularity.

I think a lot of it is Spence is 8 years younger than GGG. I think many people feel like GGG should have already had a more defining fight. Granted there is a great argument that has little to nothing to do with GGG. The fact remains his resume looks less than appealing for a 34 year old guy on P4P lists & gets him criticism that a guy just coming on the scene isn't going to get. If Spence spends the next 4 years or whatever not fighting (through his own decisions or thru politics) the Thurman's, Porter's, Brook's, Khan's & bigger name guys he'll be hearing the same **** GGG would be hearing today.

Golovkin vs Ward - was never feasible due to timeline. Ward had legal disputes, that's a fact. Not just that, but Golovkin already had his sights set on Lemieux belt, and afterwards, Canelo's belt (or Canelo himself). Ward wasn't going to wait that long, especially since nobody at 168 really wanted a piece of him. This fight would be possible at like 2017 at the earliest. It's not Golovkin's fault, nor is it Ward's fault. Ward decided to move up to LHW because he felt he was big enough for the division height/weight-wise.

Golovkin vs Lara - I'm still in the camp that thinks Lara (actually his team) is full of **** and not really serious about going up to 160 and fighting Golovkin. I don't understand why the anti-GGG people take up this position. When has Lara fought at 160? Who has Lara fought at 160? When did Lara start calling out Golovkin? Oh wait, it was on twitter with Lara's manager/team that did it. You know, there are a lot of people that do call-outs and are never serious about it. Timothy Bradley called out GGG. Saunders is now even calling out GGG. Lara is a unpopular fighter. The public dislike his fights, even if most of us appreciate the, "hit and not be hit" mindset. The problem is Lara would probably ask for $1-2 million for his pay. I don't think GGG's promotion/management team want to pay that to a fighter like that.

Golovkin vs Saunders - Saunders is obviously ducking. No disputes here.

Golovkin vs Jacobs - Haven't heard anything really about this one. Jacobs seems content and willing to wait to take this fight in the future. Maybe when GGG is older, or maybe when there's more $$$ signs.

Golovkin vs Canelo - Canelo is obviously ducking as well. He will probably drop the belt unless the pressure from the fans gets to him. ODLH doesn't want this fight at all unless GGG was a big star.

Golovkin vs Eubanks Jr. - Not sure if Jr. would fight him, I think he would be willing however. We'll see.

You know what, I'm content with GGG's resume. It's taken him a lot longer to build up his status, because he's not American, but he's done it very slowly and steadily. You can't deny that his competition is going up, whether you still don't approve of it. Look at his past 5 years. He's built up from low names to decent ones like Geale, Murray, and Lemieux in the past two years. This year could be even bigger. Although I think it's unlikely, maybe Saunders takes the money and decides to fight? Maybe Canelo and GGG fight a non-title catchweight bout at 158?
