I see him being a big star if he keeps the good work up.

He takes promotion into his own hands and even has his own youtube channel with a reality tv show.

And nice to see Haney getting some mainstream press already.
Promoters are leaches and get rich off of fighters blood sweat and tears...i hope more fighters begin promoting themselves and keep the money they earn

Just watched his most recent fight

He still has tons of learning to do.

Something I don't understand is why every Floyd fan tries to fight like Money Mayweather instead of Pretty Boy Floyd

Devin doesn't really throw any combos.

His left hook and fighting at closer ranges still needs tons of work. He kept smothering himself or getting smothered.

Probably cuz of short term memory's or cuz Money got paid better than Pretty Boy.

Definitely enjoyed Pretty Boy better than Money personally.

This I agree with, I thought he did too much head hunting. I feel at this stage young fighters should be looking for the body shot ko..

I don't think staying independent so young is a good thing. Why would a promotor wanna back him and invest if he'll just be moving around every fight

He was under Roy Jones Jr wing for a year, and Roy was giving him advice about that. Roy didn't like signing long term deals with any promoter and he told the kid to try and get a network deal similar to how HBO gave Roy that network deal.

Roy was the highest paid non PPV fighter, he knew he wasn't really a ppv attraction so Roy got a good deal with HBO. Too bad he blew most of his millions on bad investments like his music stuff and paying off mistresses (rumors not sure if true).

But I believe eventually Haney might sign a promotional deal in the future, he is probably just weighing his options and seeing who is willing give him the juiciest deal. Would be cool if he actually took the Roy Jones jr path and stayed independent and sign a fight to fight contract.

He is basically the anti Broner, he even took a shot at AB saying he would beat him up and they are entirely different.

Haney is similar to a De La Hoya/ Sugar Ray Leonard type, easily marketable, to mainstream america and could land tons of endorsement deals if he keeps his image clean.

The kid has a lot of talent though, just hope he pans out he could be the future of boxing and help the sport we need stars to keep the sport relevant, since the old guard are retiring already.

My only gripe with him is he fights like Floyd now and not like the young floyd who threw combos and was exciting, he just tries to pot shot and stick and move, if he doesn't improve his style he is not going to sell only way a good boy like that would sell is if he lays hands on fools and is exciting.
