No, they're offering what he's worth based on real life...Al Haymon paying ridiculous money to a guy like Vanes... Good for him but this is why guys want crazy unrealistic money for big fights...Comment

And where were you when numerous mismatches were being made? Did you care about guys like Salka? How about sparring partners being pushed to fight prime fighters? Or try to rewatch how Quillin nearly killed Zerafa. How much did these cab drivers get compared to these Haymon fighters?
You only care about Haymon fighters doe. You don't give f#ck about boxers in general. Stop this nonsense of yours.Comment

Just like I thought. You only here to b*itch. You know God damn well he ain't making $1.5 mil and you ****** if you think he is. I guarantee you his purse ain't $1.5 mil and if it is you can have all my points you ain't even gotta bet.He owns a ***ellery manufacturing warehouse. The guy is loaded.
go back to making threads in the lounge and crying about it. Onepunch indicated Thurman made that much. He knows his handlers. I'll take his word over your nonsense any day. Until you can prove vanes isn't making 1.5 just shut your mouth.Comment

Boxing is one of the best example of why a totally open market doesn't work. Open markets are efficient but chaotic, some regulation is required to keep things moving in a certain direction.
I am generally a free market capitalist, but when you look at boxing you see the flaws in the system because everyone is out for number 1 but there is no structure so the sport gets pulled in a thousand different directions. In such a system monopolies actually do bring order to the chaos and is kind of a step forward (basically the order goes oil discovered, oil companies form, oil companies get unified under Rockefeller, Standard Oil moves the industry farther setting the standard, T. Roosevelt breaks up Standard Oil and sets the regulations that better benefit the whole system). Boxing actually went through the steps but it was the mob that did it and it somehow reverted back to step 2, it is actually a great economics discussion but such nerd talk is lost on most people.
Well, this is part of the magic of boxing.
It is an open sport an nobody has the right ti say that rules it (like NBA, UFC, and so on).
Without this model a historic big event like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao which has been marinating for years would never have been so big.
I prefer this capitalist model (as you refer to it) so anyone has the right to take posession of our sport.Comment
