Vanes is a weird, crazy, unstable dude. Go look at his page from the 15th of March up until the fight was announced. He announced the fight last week. When Mike Copp reported on it Vanes asked Mike where did you hear that. He told Vanes you tweeted it. Vanes said his account was hacked and somebody was tweeting stuff from his account and he erased the tweet. But he retweeted Rafael and other people saying the fight was official on the same day! The he announced the fight this week and admitted his account was't hacked Vanes aint got it all upstairs

guys guys please stop arguing and think for a second.
We are talking about fighting Lara. So sure DSG didnt make that much for Guererro etc but he is being payed to fight Lara. Imagine the long night Vanes is gonna have.

I do think fighters who get large paydays to fight showcase fights effects boxing overall in a negative manner. Big fights pay well but if you can fight 10 showcase fights you know you will win doesnt it make more sense? Then you have a big fight to fall back on. I dont blame fighters for wanting to make as much as possible. It becomes abusive to the nature of the sport though. Then it trickles down to guys like Boo Boo who demand millions for a mandatory. On one hand its their lives so is a no brainer to want $$, on the other there is an element of sportsmanship where you expect fighters to want the biggest challenges. This is a tough fight for Vanes, I hope both fighters are getting a good pay day.
