Love Haymon or hate Haymon he's making more boxing millionaires than anyone else in the business these days.

Unless Vanes is getting the Armenia TV rights to the fight (or some sponsor came through in a big way), I doubt his full take gets up to $1.5m.

My assumption is that Lara, as champion, is at least getting $1m; beyond that, though, the card is supposed to be a tripleheader (Lara-Vanes, Charlo-Trout, Charlo-Jackson), paired with the live broadcast of the Wilder-Povetkin fight in the afternoon.

Showtime spent $3.5m on on the payouts for Jacobs-Quillin, and i doubt the figure gets anywhere near that for the tripleheader.

Are they actually making money or overpaying bums and losing money on purpose, as an investment, just to have the monopoly of boxing in five years or so?

People obviously don't understand this economics thing. There is a reason why the PBC shows have fallen off and they are back on Showtime and trying to get fights on HBO, where the networks foot the bills.

PBC squandered almost a billion dollars in one single year. Really, let that sink in, nearly a BILLION dollars in one year with ratings on a steady decline. Boxers are making that money now, but what happens when PBC folds (notice I said when and not if too)? Are these boxers going to be freely released form their contracts? Will these guys continue to make that kind of money?

The capitalistic cycle will run its course and these boxers will realize the show is over.
