Really you could go throughout almost any fighter in history and pick holes in their resume if you had an agenda.

Marvin Hagler lost to some very average fighters on the way up. Lost to a smaller man in Leonard. Beat Hearns and Duran because they come from smaller weight classes. And defended his title against a lot of bums like Vito Antuofermo.

I don't believe what i wrote there but see how easy it is?

I don't see how hard to understand the concept of ANYBODY FROM 154-168

Marvin Hagler also got screwed in his first title shot, got beer and objects thrown at him when he won the title. He didnt get much shine or publicity until he beat Duran and Hearns. Got a title fight after 50 fights....mean while GGG has beat some solid guys but had one belt he won in the ring and one gift wrapped. He hasnt fought any of the current top middleweights....regardless of whose fault it is, he hasnt. Therefore I cant say he is the best middleweight when he hasnt cleaned out the division yet. He is capable of it. But he hasnt. Therefore I'd like to see him become the champion before I say " GGG is the middleweight champion"

Greatness is earned....you have to prove it....greatness isnt bestowed on you.

So yes, that's head & shoulders above Canelo's one win over a blown up welterweight in Cotto (although Canelo absolutely is THE middleweight champion, absolutely no denying his claim to the throne being he is lineal champ), and Danny Jacobs win over Quillin (previously beating some top 20-40 guys after getting KO'd by Pirog).
There has been a change of the Guard in the divison....Sturm is @ 168, so is Murray, Stevens never beat a top ten middleweight so i dont even know how he got a top ten ranking. Proska is gone. Outside of Lemieux none of them mean a damn thing at middleweight.

The fighters that matter TODAY in the divison are GGG, Canelo, Jacobs, Qullin, Lee and Saunders.....he has not fought any them. They are the top middleweights so how can I say without a doubt GGG is the best when he hasnt even fought them. The eye test is great for prospects.....when you reach a certain level the eye test versus ok competition isnt enough. Especially if you're being branded a monster, the best middleweight in years, blah blah blah...being the best is proven in the ring.

What kind of weird moving the goal post logic is this? The guys I mentioned were in fact top 10 when Golovkin beat them, it doesn't matter if they are no longer there now or moved up in weight or whatever the case would be. We're talking about a body of work that spans over the past few years, right, which applies to everyone at middleweight when determining the current rankings. You can't just invent some new weird criteria to say "oh well, these guys are no longer top ten and/or left the division so that doesn't count!"

The middleweight division is clearly defined right now, based on resume.

                Champion: Canelo
                #1. Golovkin
                #2. Jacobs

Golovkin's resume >> Jacobs. We determined this by looking at who Golovkin has beat (he's beat A LOT of top 10 middleweights whereas Danny has not, although has a solid win over Quillin, making him below Golvokin but above others like Lemieux, etc., although BJS could be a strong case for #2 as well).

Canelo is the champion....GGG, Quillen, BJS, Jacobs,Lee are the top contenders

I want to see them fight each other to determine who the best is....is anything wrong with that?

I dont feel sold on any of them until they fight each other......same goes for Canelo. He is the champion but if he gets by Khan, he needs to fight a top 5 middleweight or just get the hell on....dont need him.

I know its wishful thinking with all the politics but even if GGG fought Canelo and BJS fought Jacobs and the winners fought each other, at least we'd really know who the best is and we'd have an unidsputed champion

                  IMO middleweight is a mess

                    164 is between 154 and 168. It's also half way between 160 and 168.

And bear this in mind, Golovkin was ready to fight Ward at 168 before he lined up the unification with Lemieux and was made mando for the WBC title. It's not his fault Ward wasn't ready back then.

I repsect both fighters but K2 was blowing smoke and was not gonna risk putting him in with ward when he hasnt even cleaned out 160 and made the ginger money
