It's interesting that some people blame GGG for the fear of others to fight him. If GGG can't get big fights unless he disadvantages himself, then he will unify the MW division by default first. Afterwards, he should if he wishes, disadvantage himself by moving up or down, seek out these spineless cowards and kick their candy asses. Watch & see if he agrees to fight them on their terms, how many will line up to fight him. I bet it will still be very few.

Well he refuses to take any challenges. Mayweather and Pacquiao fought top 5 P4P fighters more than 10 years prior to 34 years old. And even then, it took them years of dominating through weight classes to finally get top 3 P4P recognition by journalists and fans. GGG was given the spot by beating no one of note. That doesn't get you big fights. His top 3 status was a gift by writers, websites, and fans because he is a likable KO artist, no other reason. He didn't actually earn with a big win, or several big wins.

Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo are three guys of 3 different races and they were/are all superstars. Pacquiao did not inherit a large following just from being Asian, he had to earn it by beating guys up that people didn't think he could beat. African Americans of Floyd's era don't sell very well, Floyd had to do it by winning and taking challenges. A fighter as young as Canelo being that popular doesn't just happen by being Mexican, you have take on the fighters that fans say you are ducking (Trout, Lara) and win.

Geography is not the problem here, it's the balls.

I think it comes down to what GGG wants more.

If its money-well then 155 would likely be the weight of the fight. If he truly wants the belts and unification, then do not make a deal for 155 and hope the WBC strips Canelo.

Assuming that happens, my guess is Canelo then fights Saunders and gets his belt, so we would be right back where we started.

Forget it. BJS isn't going to the States to defend his title against Canelo at 155.

Most of GGG's critics don't "blame" him for fighters not wanting to fight him. We blame GGG for continually chasing guys that don't wanna fight him, while simultaneously showing little interest in fighting good fighters that actually do wanna fight him, and fighting ****ty competition in the process.

Canelo can offer him far more than GGG so you can't just say he wouldn't. BJS turned down GGG to keep that 0 in the loss column so he can get a Canelo payday.

I and others think this is the same reason GGG was willing to do 168 for chavez and froch but not Ward-keep that undefeated record.

if the canelo fight falls apart (which i now expect to be the case), golovkin absolutely needs BJS or jacobs to salvage this year. a third opponent would be nice too, although i'm not sure who it could be. perhaps lara, now that it seems haymon may be willing to let his lower value assets cross the street for big fights
