If you rewatch the fight, while Nate did take some hard shots, he was also rolling with a lot of them and he was jabbing McGregor from the get go.
McGregor was loading on his shots and was very predictable. In the 2nd round he got hurt from a -slap- to a 1-2 combo (no joke) and never recovered. He saved face by going to the ground and getting choked out instead of getting knocked out on his feet, that might sound silly but it makes sense if you know their background.Comment

Just to add. Nate said in an interview that he was lying on a beach on vacation when they called him. This superman triathlon talk is just an excuse for all the people that bought the hype.Wait, what?? Connor had a full camp and was prepared for a guy who has MUCH better stand-up and wrestling than Nate. NATE was the one who took the fight with no notice and it's amazing that he was able to see the 2nd round. Saying that Connor beat himself is foolish when you consider that Nate was the one with all the disadvantages. Connor lost to a guy who was historically awful at 170, had no prep for the fight, and was 2-3 in the last 5 years. No more bullshyt excuses for Connor. -EXPOSED-Comment

Yea, anyone who has grappled will tell you that NOTHING gets you in grappling shape except actual training. That includes clinch work too. I remember boxers coming into the bjj section of the gym and being absolutely gassed after 2 min of rolling. It exhausts you in a different way and a triathlon doesn't prep you for that.Comment

His chin is good. I just think it was a few things. For one he was tired after throwing a bunch of haymakers early. Second he had his hands down and didn't see the left coming at all. When he tried to get away Nate smothered him and it was over.Comment

Yeah he was going to get knocked out if he didn't take it down. It's pretty bad how Connor crumbled so fast and easily. He has the right mentality after losing. Maybe he will learn to be more defensive with his movement, and throw more kicks. If you rewatch the fight, while Nate did take some hard shots, he was also rolling with a lot of them and he was jabbing McGregor from the get go.

Correct. This "one punch" or "he got caught" idea is foolish. Diaz was hitting him the whole fight but the connect ratio started extremely low and ramped up. Connor also tired himself by being inefficient in his striking. That's how Diaz's work. Tortoise and hare, folks.
The thing that shocked me is that Connor did not utilize his kicking abilities. I think he could have nailed Diaz with body, leg, and push kicks. Nate can't wrestle well so there wasn't great risk of kicks getting caught. Nate is also notorious for not checking leg kicks so the path seemed easy and obvious here. Connor insisted on boxing the boxer (just like Rousey) and got his ass handed to him. We don't need Mystery Inc to figure out what happened here.Comment
