He actually was working Diaz quite nicely until he got caught by a much bigger guy.

Really no shame in this loss, it's almost ridiculous and comical.
Theres quite a bit of shame in how he lost that fight. Diaz had all the cards stacked against him.

Mayweather started his career at 130lbs (20 years ago) and ended it beating champions 24lbs north at 154... and for those saying the jump wasn't after one fight, well on fight night against Canelo he weighed 150 and Canelo weighed 164...

...and plus Diaz only trained 11 days for a supposed monster whom everyone thought would easily win,... and maybe it's me but Diaz kinda sounds a little punch drunk... He was eating blows to the head... it didn't appear that he was capable of moving out of the way... I was really worried for him and thought he was taylor made for Mcgregor...

BTW... Going up this amount of weight for boxers has been done before... Roy Jones Jr... Cruiserweight to Heavyweight against John Ruiz - Fight night weight - RRJ = 193 / JRuiz 226 (33lb difference)... Against a legitimate heavyweight champ with a full training camp...

McGregor is a great MMA fighter... He just not going to be discussed in the same breath as the fight game ICONS...

      Peace Mo!

then he would just be a "good" fighter. it makes no sense to call somebody great and then diminish their accomplishment in the same breath. you diminish the meaning of great. even fighters do this when they talk about other fighters, "he's a great fighter but but but..." it's so dumb. the best in sports are called all time greats, the very best being the greatest of all time. alexander the great, genghis khan (great khan), historical figures who did iconic things.

        just ranting.

It was an excuse. Mcgregor cuts heavily to make 145...diaz is a natural 155lb guy. They are basically the same size. It's not like mcgregor was in there with rory macdonald or robbie lawlor.

Nate kept him turned to the ground. Conor was trying to get on top but Nate has leg locked and used his body to turn him to the ground.

So it's like Mayweather fighting Cotto at 160-168

It's not an excuse, it was clearly visible.

He didn't account for the extra weight and he gassed badly. He admitted to the mistake, he knows he fought a silly fight and he'll learn from it.

                  Facts:

                  1. Diaz took the fight on 10 days notice.
                  2. He moved up 15lbs
                  3. He beat a top 3 P4P fighter

It coulda had something to do with him loading up on all his shots and becoming panicked when he wasn't hurting diaz. He even said as much in the post fight presser...the only reference he made to the weight was that it may have helped diaz take the punishment. They're basically the same size. McGregor is a front runner who cuts heavily to make 145 so he can rely on overpowering his opponents.
