Anyway, Jon Jones is the last star the UFC has. If Jones loses, UFC might not last very long.
    Not really.

He was beating Diaz up and busted him up, but he gassed which I can only attribute to the extra weight. At that point Diaz took advantage and credit to him.

Warning to other fighters though, don't jump 25lbs in one go and throw power shots constantly.

Same, I don't even like the guy, just funny seeing floyd phags come out to bash him for simply insulting their God.

When Holly Holm lost I thought Dana White was probably going to be pissed off, because the Holm-Rousey 2 would have been huge. Then I thought about it a little more and the UFC will now get at least two big fights instead of one. Now the Holm-Tate rematch becomes interesting and the winner can face Rousey or they can potentially meet a third time.
It was obvious that McGregor would take losses, but people are still going to want to see him. He's entertaining. That simple.

People keep thinking MMA is taking L's when in reality they are taking W's. People are going crazy over this event and everything happening in that sport. UFC is bigger than the fighters, just remember that. UFC may the best promoter in any sport right now. They do a great freaking job at getting people hyped. Boxing could learn a few things. Instead Boxing is a close-minded sport.

        Just an opinion.
Some truth here. I see Ronda fighting both Holm and Tate in her next 2 fights, in whichever order Dana feels makes most sense. UFC is doing lots of things good from the promotional aspect and they make good fights, I don't think they are likely to hurt from this. They'll build someone else up + rebuild McGregor + milk fights out of Holm/Rousey/Tate.. they are in a good spot right now.

He was probably pissed off in that moment, but now Dana gets at least two or three big fights instead of one. I don't think he's going to be pissed for long lol.

What the hell are you talking about? Diaz is more skilled than Mcgregor, not as athletically gifted but more skilled.

Thats the beauty of the UFC. You don't gotta Bob "The Builder" Arum things over 3, 4 years. You put two evenly matched fighters in the ring & one will win. Rinse & repeat that a few times & the cream will rise to the top & you got a Jon Jones, Ronda Rousey, Chris Weidman or Conor McGregor. It'll happen over & over again you'll see. Dana ain't doing much of anything with building up stars except letting his matchmaker make matches. Respect to Joe Silva.

Thats something thats lacking in boxing. Boxing tries to find the star then make fights, the UFC finds the stars by making the fights.

Stars make the difference between a 250k ppv and 900k. Millions of dollars. Take Rousey and McGregor out of the UFC in 2015 and they go from one of their most profitable years ever to one of the worst. The UFC also invested a lot of money into McGregor, he will still be a draw but they were on the verge of a Mayweather type of ppv draw which won't happen anymore.

                    • Connor gives a good fight. He talks but he mostly walks the talk. Unlike some retired boxer who talks **** and does the opposite inside the ring.

And I am not even a big MMA or McGregor fan.
