Damnit man. Connor bit off more than he could chew. Just go back down to FW and LW and reign there. He really thought he could take on the world. Maybe this humbles him just a bit.

Lol Diaz put down the bong and got off the couch to destroy this dude, crazy. MMA is so unpredictable and fun, you can't master every style so there's always several ways to lose.

The main two fights were as good as it gets for MMA.

A lose isnt looked at as the end of someones career like it sometimes is in boxing and Ill be real honest with you I thought Connor was gonna beat the brakes off of Diaz especially with the short notice. Surprise surprise, its why I like watching the UFC and I prefer boxing. The upset is always in play in the UFC, not so much in boxing.

Conor fought someone 25 pounds north of his weight class. Keep your bias to yourself. You guys look real simple right now. Nasty Nate did what the world thought he wouldn't. UFC>>>boxing right now. Boxing has been dead in the water since May-pac

McGregor was a fool to call out Floyd but he shouldn't get bashed for that loss too much, he took a big risk and lost, oh well.

As for the Conor hype, the blueprint of taking him to the ground was already written. He did quick taps twice in his pre-UFC days that shows he has basically zero ground game just like tonight. I was surprised with Diaz's success with his standup in the later stages of the fight I will say.
Think this is a classic case of believing your own hype & headlines. Conor won the 145lb title & somehow ends up in a 170lb fight a couple months later against a always gritty fighter on 10 days notice. In retrospect & maybe looking at it in real time it wasn't the best idea & it'll be easy to sell this as a fluke for the UFC & keep the Conor train rolling for a lil while longer. So idk if its over quite yet. But he might not wanna eff with Dos Anjos next cuz he was gonna beat him & will still beat him. Conor might wanna look harder at that Aldo rematch in a 145lb defense.
