155 = 164

Green K.A catchweight is a catchweight, regardless of who holds a belt in whatever division. If you're going to demand a catchweight then you have no recourse to refuse a catchweight fight when someone who has more leverage than you demands one.
It's beyond hypocritical for the Triple Duck to ask Ward for a 164lb catchweight in one breath only to turn around and refuse to fight Alvarez @ 155lbs. Anyone who would justify this type of hypocrisy only proves themselves to be a fanboi and nut guzzler...
FAHK TRIPLE FLOP AKA. MR 97K PPV BUYS. He's not even on Cannel's level! When that village bum sells 2.1 mil. PPV BUYS, then he can talk. For now, do what you do best... fight UBER drivers and 7-Eleven cashiers.

Bro, GGG and Ward don't fight in the same division. GGG and Canelo are both champions in the same division. That's the problem. Im good either way though cuz i ain't even feeling lil g right about now but I can't argue against the fact they're both middleweight champions.A catchweight is a catchweight, regardless of who holds a belt in whatever division. Fighting a guy in your division, who holds a title, at a catchweight, is not the same as meeting someone at a higher weight class in the middle of two divisions. How can you not see that? People on this website are some of the dumbest people I've ever encountered.Comment

is not being ignorant, is being realistic, I'm not defending that, but it is what it is, boxing history doesn't even mention mandatories from 10, 15 or 20 years ago, so what makes you think that's going to change in the future?This is a very ignorant post.
Without mandatory defences there would be nothing to stop a boxer winning a world title then keeping hold of it till he was too old to even climb into a ring, without ever defending it against any of the top contenders in that division.
As for "history" ... how the heck do you know what boxing historians will be writing about the present era in 10, 25, 50 years time, and why do you even care about that?
Let boxing fans here and now see the best men men in each division fighting for titles at 100% strength and fitness.
The future can take care of itself, like it always does.Comment

At least Canelo isn't seeking fights at 160 and only asking Lil G for a catchweight, like Lil G did to Ward.A catchweight is a catchweight, regardless of who holds a belt in whatever division. Srl lhw belt is one of the infamous weight stips of all time, great job using that disgrace to justify this. Srl never defended that belt, CW or not. Here's why this is the feeblest of all time. Prove me wrong, historian:
1. First time a champ demands CW from a mando, never mind lineal champ
2. First time reigning champ tries to drag a divisional rival to lowest possible CW. It's really rare anyone tries that
3. First champ ever to request a CW while outweighing the challenger fight night.
Bonus challenge:
List all fights you know of before Dlh Hopkins with champ imposing a CW on guy from same divisionComment

Floyd tried to unify 154 with canelo at 147, it ended up at 152 cuz they negotiated... 155 is far from being the lowest cw possible, they can fight at any weight as long as is under 160... cotto could have defend it at 153 if he wanted to.. oh and cotto defended that title at 155 vs canelo, so it happened already..Srl lhw belt is one of the infamous weight stips of all time, great job using that disgrace to justify this. and as for your point 3, fight night weight is irrelevant, fighters can even say no to the scale on fight night if they want to... one fighter adding more water than the other doesn't mean he is bigger or stronger...Comment

158 is still bad in principle, but much better than 155 which is where MW starts, don't get nitpicky on me. If they show flexibility, great, but if 155 is the sticking point, will you agree it's the feeblest demand of all time?Floyd tried to unify 154 with canelo at 147, it ended up at 152 cuz they negotiated... 155 is far from being the lowest cw possible, they can fight at any weight as long as is under 160... cotto could have defend it at 153 if he wanted to.. oh and cotto defended that title at 155 vs canelo, so it happened already..

Fight night weight matters if you blow up 20lbs, it's unhealthy. But you're right, Canelo is probably not showing fight night weights from now on. I think Chavez stopped also?Comment
