Based on what? Kovalev doesn't sell tickets anywhere.

If Andre Ward, for his March fight and with HBO marketing the fight on TV, is able to bring in a $1m gate, what say is Kovalev going to have about placing the show elsewhere?

If things go to plan, Stevenson-Alvarez happens in April(likely on Showtime), before Stevenson-Fonfara II happens in November. I'll be tuning in for Kovalev-Ward (likely at a bar, as I cancelled HBO years ago; will be buying tickets to Ward-Barrera once they get announced), but I have almost no doubt that, sans a massive site fee, Stevenson-Fonfara II has a far bigger gate than Kovalev-Ward does in Vegas (Roc Nation, if allowed to lead things, being based in New York would lead them to put extra weight behind a fight from Barclays Center).

Would hold off on beating your chest until the type of money that Khan is getting gets leaked.

Stevenson and his camp are minding his money; they know what they've got with Stevenson, and everyone's bought in to chase down whatever money is available. Have no doubt that Jacobs will do the same thing when negotiations for his next fight come up; with Barclays, Showtime, and other sponsors in his corner, Jacobs and his camp will weigh out the full package.

Based on all of your other showtime fan boy actions you must be really pissed today lololol
Dominic Wade and his camp are taking their shot; he's been a pro for 6 years, has had 18 fights, just stepped up to fringe world level opponents, the IBF mandatory opportunity fell to him, and the offer was apparently right, so his camp said "why not"?

Experience is in doubt, but Wade will walk into the ring as the bigger man and longer man, with effective use of his jab (he doesn't move as good as I'd like to see, and I have doubts about how big his power is).

Wade was 1-2 fights away from being in the same spot anyway, so his team took the chance; if he's successful, the WBA/IBF/WBC 160 titles head off HBO (you can't book options on a mandatory defense). If he's not successful, as long as he doesn't get routed, Wade took the jump a little early, his camp takes a step back, and you put him in the ring with other guys about Sam Soliman's level

Kovalev sold maybe 1k tickets for his fight against Mohammedi; you can rant about whatever you want to rant about, the objective proof of the matter is you're wrong.

Stevenson will fight Alvarez in April, and will likely fight Fonfara again in November, and end up making more money for those two fights than what Kovalev makes in his three.

You keep talking about all of these options that Kovalev has , yet I bet you can't even point to three fights that Kovalev can look forward to having, especially if he doesn't go back to the Pascal well again for another unnecessary fight.

I don't blame him for taking the shot. I would too if I was him. I was mentioning the fact that he was built on shobox and that Khan last fought on Showtime one day after Stevenson and so many keyboard warriors were ecstatic that stevenson walked away when Sho wasn't cut into an hbo ppv fight yet they are silent when Khan is doing exactly what was asked of stevenson and Wade is doing the same thing on regular hbo instead of hbo ppv.

Cong****, four cards. how about you suggest another two for HBO

                    Showtime:
                    Jan: Wilder-Szpilka
                    Feb: Frampton-Quigg/LSC-Martinez
                    Mar: Thurman-Porter (CBS), Brook-Bizier, Broner-Theophane
                    Apr: Jack-ChavezJr, Stevenson-Alvarez
                    May:
                    June: Wilder-Povetkin

and that's not even the full schedule, as things will get filled in.

After March those fights aren't even done deals. Wilder likely won't fight Povetkin.

You forgot after the two hbo cards in march they have Pac-Bradley and GGG-Wade in April and Canelo-Khan in May so those plus the 4 already done for Jan-March is 7 for hbo
