Stevenson's talking about loyalty to Showtime, that's fine, go back to Showtime after fighting Kovalev, but there's no legal obstruction preventing him from taking that fight.

Furthermore people need to shut the **** up about Kovalev signing exclusive rights with HBO. That's exactly what Stevenson did on the verge of his fight with Kovalev in 2014, he signed exclusive rights with Showtime. In fact, Haymon used to always have his fighters sign exclusive rights with his networks back in the day - Paul Williams, Arreola, Berto, Mayweather. Haymon had Khan sign an exclusive deal with Showtime. He doesn't do it anymore because #1 he has the hedge fund money to guarantee dates & purses and #2 he has Espinoza in his pocket. The only reason to have Khan & Stevenson sign exclusive deals with Showtime back then were to prevent them from going back to HBO.
except that Stevenson didn't sign exclusive rights to Showtime; Showtime beat the bid for Stevenson-Fonfara (with HBO backing out on matching the offer), which got them the option of Stevenson's next fight.

You should probably just stop making up stuff whole cloth, especially when it's rather easy for someone to do a Google search and refute your bull****.

      STOP LYING TO US KOVADOUCHE
... Stevenson came to the US, to fight Darnell Boone in 2010, nevermind the fact that Stevenson has been in attendance at fight cards in the US beforehand.

What big fights are in the cue for HBO this year?

Ward-Kovalev, Fury-Klitschko 2, Pacquiao's retirement fight, two Canelo PPVs, and Golovkin maybe crushing another three cans (Dominic Wade is getting the shot a touch early, the WBC likely hands Golovkin their belt, Golovkin makes a token defense for the WBC, and then closes out the year with another junk fight).

        some schedule

Kovalev shouldnt sign a contract with HBO because it would impede negotiations with a guy who already backed out and did the same exact thing? a boxer wants to fight on hbo? Gtfo...that's unheard of. It's no pro fighters dream lol

We all know it's not hitting 300k ppv but thats an optomistic yet realistic expectation. It's probably more of a 190k type fight and Adonis is still being offered a guarantee of 2mil at least and a 50-50 split.

Why does showtime have to be involved 50-50 when HES ALREADY BEING OFFERED 50-50 DIRECTLY!?! It's like ATT offering you a job and you tell them you want to be paid through comcast. Better pay and sense be damned.

This isn't a Mayweather-Pacquiao where there's a few hundred mil to split between a lot of people. Stevenson might want the fight and he's probably in the same spot Pacquiao was before. doesn't make his own decisions . This is like Arum telling Floyd no because he wants to build a stadium despite Floyd having a venue, date, etc. it's ******ed.

I don't know the entire details on Adonis' status as a SHO fighter but it sounds like he has no obligation whatsoever himself. Maybe his management does or something but that's not Kov's team or HBO's problem.
Michel doesn't believes that the fight is going to do $4m at the gate, at MSG or in Vegas, and he doesn't believe that the fight is going to do $9m on PPV on HBO; heck, if Duva believed those numbers, the guarantee to Stevenson wouldn't be just $2m.

If the objective is to end up with GYM/Stevenson getting $7m on the fight, Michel is arguing that the structure of Main Events offer isn't likely to get there. So, he's offered giving up the $2m and marketing the entire fight 50/50; both promoters put the fight where they can get the biggest gate and both promoters marketing the fight to as many people as possible, to goose the PPV number as high as possible.

As things seem currently structured, Main Events is promising $15m for a fight that may actually end up doing $7m-$8m; lol

Lol
Kovalev went back to Montreal, after stopping Jean Pascal, because his Vegas headliner flopped so hard that Duva didn't want to take the chance.

What following are you even talking about?

                  • So if Khan can fight on HBO why can't Stevenson? Why can't Jacobs and so on? Is Khan a unique circumstance or does it simply boil down to the fighter?

so how pissed are you that Dominic Wade is turning his back on Showtime and Shobox who gave him his only exposure to fight GGG on HBO and on Khan for fighting Canelo on HBO ppv without Showtimes involvement when he fought last on Showtime exactly one day after Adonis Stevenson. Based on all of your other showtime fan boy actions you must be really pissed today lololol
