thats just ******, wtf you want a man to put his life on pause to satisfy another man needs GTFOH what are a girl? who thinks like that?Kovalev resigned an exclusive HBO contracts while he was free and there was talks for a fight with Stevenson... He could have waited and make that fight happen but didn't bother to... How do you call that ?
GYM is very square with their offer... They said it would be alive as long as the two guys were Champs... On a side note a 50/50 deal is what it takes when a 3 Belts holder has the marketing Charisma of a Jerboa... I'll say it again, Kovalev CAN'T sell anything on his own...Comment

I agree with you that Hopkins like many others in boxing tend to stretch the truth. However I tend to believe him here. Stevenson was and still is he lineal champ. BHOP has always been the guy who seeks out challenges and to once again be the LHW lineal champ would be something he'd challenge himself to do.
He said he waited, and waited and waited until he couldn't anymore. It's why BHOP was so dismissive of him on the HBO interview saying Stevenson isn't serious and Kovalev should focus on Ward.
BHOP wasn't doing that out of loyalty to HBO or any promoter. Golden Boy doesn't promote Kovalev or Ward, so he had no reason to dis Stevenson unless he knew a bit about him.Comment

You're right. HBO being the idiots they were only had a verbal agreement for the fight and had nothing concrete. Their fault for being trusting in a tough business. But look at what's happened since then. They failed to make the Hopkins fight, failed to make Pascal fights, want a ridiculous split PPV with HBO for the Kovalev fight( as if the fight would sell a million).
At some point you have to realize Stebenson is a diva to negotiate with and its Haymons fault for allowing this BS attitude. They should have at the very least gotten the Hopkins fight done.Last edited by JJRod; 02-01-2016, 03:32 PM.Comment

Haha. Not only that , but there wasn't a guarantee he'd fight Stevenson anyway. They had a verbal agreement and Stebenson balked. Kovalev did the right thing in staying with HBO. His stock has risen, he's on several p4p lists and he's in gear for a fight against Ward which can put him in position to be number 1 p4p.
Compare to Stevenson, Kovalev is doing great.Comment

They weren't trusting-they were cutting their budget and couldn't commit to signing the fight that much in advance. You're right. You left out Duva pulling out of the purse bid by asking not to be the mando.
Stevenson has an over inflated sense of self worth-no question. That said, both sides have contributed to this fight not being done.Comment

Name the fighters that "Refuse To Fight On HBO"?
What big money is HBO throwing around? You named Bradley, who been on PPV Multiple times now so I think he deserves the pay he gets but who is is HBO Payment "BIG MONEY TO?"
HBO have people flat out Brainwashed
This is NOT about HBO vs PBC by the way the issues are with HBO and Showtime. Not only that but I don't hear PBC and Showtime bashing HBO or HBO fighters but Lampley and Kellerman are constantly taking shots
