Stevenson be clamin' HBO refused 50/50

It's still a reasonable enough roadblock for it to be a valid roadblock though. It might not be worth risking Stevenson against Kovalev on HBO, but it might be worth risking Stevenson on a Haymon platform where Showtime/PBC's involvement in whatever capacitly will make Stevenson the most money. And I do think Stevenson wants the fight.
On the other hand, don't think network issues had jack **** to do with Quillin not fighting GGG on HBO.Comment

It's not so reasonable considering its only happened twice, for record setting ppvs with guys exclusive to both networks. This is a money loser on Ppv, HBO would take the hit only on prestige groundsIt's still a reasonable enough roadblock for it to be a valid roadblock though. That's like complaining about getting shit on you when you're already neck deep in shit. Having it on PPV is already unreasonable. A joint-network PPV is not gonna make it somehow any more unreasonable. If anything HBO loses less money by splitting the losses with Showtime. If you disagree with my logic, who gives a damn? You're complaining about getting shit on your shit covered shit. If HBO is already planning on losing money on this PPV, the only thing stopping this fight is HBO's sheer pettiness.
Usually it's getting both networks to agree is the problem. But here we already have one side with Stephen Espinoza agreeing to it, and saying it's doable. Who am I to disagree?
Someone call Less Moonvess and get this stared already.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 01-31-2016, 08:14 PM.Comment

Moonves steps in for Floyd Pac, not for this. Probably worst of all is the precedent it establishes, that any Haymon punk will now demand joint Ppv vs guys exclusive to HboThat's like complaining about getting shit on you when you're already neck deep in shit. I was joking.
Joint PPV is the least of the problems here. The fact that we're getting PPVs for stuff like GGG vs Lemieux and Kovalev vs Ward is the problem. And really, network exclusivity may be a bigger problem with this joint PPV stuff being a ****** side effect.Comment

It's no joke getting a joint ppv going, i'm sure.I was joking.

Both of those fights are better than Canelo Angulo, Pac Algieri, Floyd Berto/Guerrero etc but they don't feature a PPV star. GGG has some potential, they'll explore it for a unification they couldnt fit in their budget. Ward Kov have no PPV upside, however that's waay out of HBO's budget so it better be PPV.Comment

Stevenson-Bika was on CBS (Showtime's parent network), with the two fights before that on Showtime and Stevenson-Alvarez and Stevenson-Fonfara 2 also likely for Showtime.
people aren't as dumb as you'd hope.Comment
