people aren't as dumb as you'd hope.
Right, so he hasn't been on Showtime in over a year, with last fight on Spike. Thanks for backing me up lol

It'll be interesting to see if anyone from HBO responds to this

A HBO/Showtime fight... Come on man lol He thinks its a PAc-May or Tyson-Lewis kind of fight??? Stevenson is a joke seriously. I am from Montreal and even people here see that he is a joke. If this fight gets made in Montreal, people will cheer for Kovalev, mark my word

Just ask Hopkins about negotiating with Stevenson. He knows first hand, this guy is not serious, which is why he said last night Stevenson is not serious and the fight to be made is Ward vs Kovalev.
Hopkins chose to fight Kovalev over Stephenson. He said that Kov was robotic and that he could exploit that. In retrospect he was wrong, and likely would have lost to Stephenson as well, but he definitely chose to fight Kov and avoid Stephenson.

I think both fighters genuinely want the fight. It's a big payday. It's a unification for all the belts. Stevenson is the lineal champion. Kov is undefeated. Both are punchers. Both are confident. It would be a great fight. Way better than a clinch-and-tie-up festival with Andre Ward.

Bottom line, HBO is holding a grudge. Behind the scenes boxing politics strikes again.

Stevenson is a *VIACOM* fighter, which is why his last three fights have been on Showtime, CBS and Spike (all owned by Viacom).

Viacom is willing to pay more for the fight than HBO is willing to pay, which is why HBO won't allow Kovalev to participate in the purse bid.

Purse bid would have solved this ages ago, but Kovalev ducked the fight.

Stevenson is a VIACOM fighter (which owns all of the networks Stevenson has been fighting on, like Showtime, CBS and Spike).

VIACOM is the company willing to pay the most for the fight. Why should the fight automatically go to HBO when HBO isn't offering as much as VIACOM?

All of his fights have been on Viacom networks. CBS/Spike/Showtime are all owned by the same company. Why should Stevenson stab Viacom in the back? And if Stevenson loses, after stabbing Viacom in the back, where is he supposed to go?

Viacom is willing to pay more for the fight than HBO is willing to pay. The fight should go wherever the money is. Kovalev is hiding behind HBO. HBO has stopped this fight every step of the way.

And let's not forget that HBO had the right to match Viacom's offer before Stevenson left. We would have had this fight years ago if HBO had matched Viacom's offer.

Over and over and over, HBO has been the reason this fight hasn't happened.

But you sheep are all brainwashed by HBO propaganda. It's hilarious.

50% more people watched stevenson than watched kovalev.

Let's not have short term memories here. Hopkins at the time being a golden boy fighter was fighting on showtime. When Stevenson moves to showtime the logical big fight for him on that network was Hopkins. Hopkins himself said he waited and waited on Stevenson. Said days turned into weeks and eventually he realized Stecenson had no interest in the fight. He then moved to Kovalev who also made an offer and HBO was willing to accept.

                      This comes directly from Hopkins.

And your assessment hat Hopkins chose to Avoid Stevenson is beyond ridiculous. When has BHOP ever been afraid.
