GGG was willing to come to the UK.

Frank Warren ruled that out because he said there wouldn't be a big enough stadium available during the football season.

    • Maybe this is coincidence, maybe not. Maybe Lara is full of **** and has no wish to fight him. Maybe he actually wants the fight. I doubt seriously anybody posting in this thread really knows.

The fact remains that GGG's clock is ticking and he still lacks a risky fight in his body of work.

      He has 0 marquee names.

He's gonna' fight yet another guy that nobody knows.

Greatness is incumbent upon he who aspires to it.

Come on javi, you know better. Saunders people didn't want it, they kept moving the goal posts. Saunders himself admitted he'd lose to Golovkin.

Actually I trashed Floyd and Broner. After the Super Six, I had Ward as the pound for pound number 1 fighter in the world. I'm a part of the Bad Chad Dawson social group.

It just bothers you that I see past yours and others bs and call it like it is.
Actually you're bothered that I see right through you and anybody who claims " It's racist to pick Ward over Golovkin". I see through you like glass. Be honest about why you truly feel that way and stop being the coward that you have always been.

That weak thread you made about Terrance Crawford and stating the obvious is a laughable response.

Stop the BS OP. GGG's unification goal is not all that, especially nowadays when you and a large percentage of GGG fans think belts are worthless anyway. I also have a hard time believing this is such a goal when his actions showed he would have abandoned the goal for a high paying 168lb fight.

The Wade fight appears unacceptable to you as a fan. If it is, the question becomes who should GGG fight instead, given Johnson is hurt and Saunders said no?

Would you as a fan prefer NDjam or Lara?

              Correct!

Although I'm not convinced that Lara would add much to that "greatness"!!

He never said he would abandon his goal. He was willing to go up for one fight for a big money fight. That's not abandoning anything. You have to remember he wasn't mandatory to anything at that point and couldn't get a decent fight.

It's also BS to say unifying isn't important to fans and/or fighters. There isn't much more one can accomplish than winning all the belts in a division. Only a very few fighters have actually won all four belts in a division. Certainly an elite group.

I didn't say move to 168 permanently. I just meant fight a 168lber or Lara as opposed to Wade or NDjam.

YOu would have a valid point if this was 1985. But its 2016. you have posted several times that belts are worthless and meaningless. With or without the belt, most still believe GGG is the best MW in the world.

In this situation, GGG's IBF belt is forcing him into a fight no one wants to see. Vacating the belt doesn't remove him from being the mandatory for Canelo, which is the fight he really wants.

I guess its Wade or NDjam.

                  • It's going to get interesting if Haymon forces GGG vs Wade to go to purse bids. If PBC wins the bid I could see Golovkin dropping the IBF title.

Who is he going to fight then? Sebastian Heiland?

You're right, me either. But at least it would be a step in the right direction and the best (can you believe it?) name on his resume.
