No he didn't. Fury wasn't avoiding Glazkov, he was fulfilling the rematch clause he had in his contract with Wlad.
He didn't have any option but to give back the IBF belt.
Also, in Fury's case, he had just beaten the undisdputed No1 and lineal HW champ. The IBF belt wasn't as important to him as it is to Golovkin.Comment

The incessant calls on this board for Lara to be the opponent are clearly part of a backlash against Golovkin. Nevertheless, I would much prefer to see Golovkin face Lara than Dominic Wade or Tureano Johnson. As a fan I want to see something new when I watch a fight. Lara will be something new for Golovkin, in terms of both levels and style. I think Golovkin wins but it would be something different.Comment

Stop deflecting. If the wade deal isn't made who should GGG fight?cmon Dunn, you're smarter than that so Im not sure if you're having logic problems today or just trying to start some jazz.
You know damn well that whether YOU think its important or not, Team GGG has been consistent with their claim of wanting to unify the titles. And you also know damn well that the IBF chose Wade, not Team GGG, so just stop with this nonsense....
AT some point, GGG fans need to discuss the choices he and his team make when he doesn't get the fight he wants.
WHy are you avoiding that discussion?Comment

Martin Murray just lost to Arthur frikkin Abraham. And he wasn't even knocked out. Arthur frikkin Abraham. He may not be a bum but he's the textbook definition of a euro level fighter. And no, Lemieux wasn't a bad cight, buthe it wasn't a great one either. Anyone with any sense knew it was gonna be a one sided beat down. In fact, his moat interesting fight last year turned out to be against Willie Monroe, who I'd favor over Lemieux in a second.Comment

If the Wade deal isnt made, they go to purse bid per IBF rules. Then if that blows up they would move to the next name which is Ndam, which is equally as awful.
But you focus on a bad mandatory (as if GGG has any say in the matter) instead of looking at the REAL issue. If Canelo or Saunders had more BALLS, and less VAGINA, we wouldnt be having this conversation because GGG would be fighting one of them in April or May.......Comment

Ok, Murray just lost a close points decision, away from home, to the No1 ranked SMW in the world, and one of the best names on Andre Ward's stellar resume.Martin Murray just lost to Arthur frikkin Abraham. What a bum.Comment

We've discussed that issue. We all agree that is why GGG can't get the fights he wants. But you don't always get what you want. When you do not, the conversation now becomes what do you do in that situation. If the Wade deal isnt made, they go to purse bid per IBF rules. Then if that blows up they would move to the next name which is Ndam, which is equally as awful.

The mandatories are bad fights. So we are discussing other possible fights that we want to see instead and some are asking GGG to use the power that comes as the name fighter to make those fights happen.
No different than has been discussed on NSB since it started.Comment
