Let it fail. Let them get their wish. Boxing was bad before and it will go back to being bad. They still think this it is the 80's.

yep, and there should always be prospects on the fringe ready to step in and replace the fighters who are done. that's how it's supposed to work. this marination business just interferes with the natural selection process and leaves us with a bunch of mediocrities and no stand-outs. how can you become a star when you're not even able to prove that you are #1 in your division?

I've been a boxing fan since '86 and have many friends who follow the sport religiously as well. I've never once met ANY boxing fan casual or diehard that would NOT watch a good fight because of WNBA. NBA playoff's or championship game? Yes. WNBA? LOL. Cmon man!

True but I think you have to hold Haymon/Dibella/Showtime responsible. You know when the NFL playoffs are. You probably should avoid scheduling fights against the NFL playoffs.

Nobody is intentionally not tuning in BECAUSE OF RACE! That is such a pathetic excuse card.

He's talking about what he is seeing from posters. He isn't saying race is the reason people didn't tune in FFS. How could you misunderstand that?

I'm not talking about the viewership, I'm talking about the people who never post a single HBO rating but come here and savage every single PBC ratings number for pages and pages on every thread..

Sure they have a market. So does bull riding. I just don't see how either can affect boxing ratings. Those who were tuned in to WNBA more than likely weren't planning on watching the boxing match anyway!
