That will be the narrative for Golovkin's career it seems, whoever holds the belt needs one or two more before facing him. At least Dibella manned up and said "I don't want to put my guy in there with that monster."

No one wants to fight the best anymore.
When you ask them to, they point to haymons guys and say if they don't have to, I don't have to.
I cant be the only hardcore fan who is barely holding on to care about this sport anymore.

what do they mean top target? how could they possibly not force the purse bid or get it in writing? what the hell did they even negotiate? sounds like ggg took more money once again not to force the bid yet

Instead of taking a stay busy fight K2 and Team GGG should be working on spending time in a hot sauna with garbage bags and learning to eat nothing but salads to get to 155 because the only way they get the fight is to come to Canelo's terms.

Jacobs-Quillin split $3m on the main event, and none of the other parties (Showtime, Barclays Center, DiBella Entertainment) seemed worried about losing anything on the event, which would lead me to believe that the actual event, once everything was counted, did better than you seem to think.
Originally posted by Scipio2009 View Post-Billy Joe Saunders can walk away from $3m because he and his camp, 1)know that Saunder-Eubank 2 is a fight that would likely get him significantly more than that and 2)understand that he can hold his title hostage in the UK and make about that much money in headline showcase defenses

I knew that, you knew that, Team Golovkin knew that, BJS knew that. Everyone knew that since day 1. Do I need to bump my posts proving I knew that?
It was a waist of time.
At least with Jacobs you get #1 MW vs #2 MW. I think Jacobs team would gladly accept the offer given to Saunders.
Let's not kid ourselves here but neither you or anyone else really knows what is going on behind the scenes and I am sure as a boxing manager you have an obligation to look at all outcomes not just one. With that said I am sure Tom has reached out to several fighters and like any good manager is weighing his options.
Also, I really doubt GGG will fight Jacobs or Lara, not because he is scared, but because he has an exclusive contract with HBO and both Jacobs and Lara are signed with Haymon and currently HBO and Haymon are not working together so the point is mute.
Now, if you were to ask for my honest opinion I think GGG beats Jacobs and Lara handily without question. Lara would definitely lose just because he is his own worst enemy with that awful style he has. Jacobs is an amazing guy, I got to meet him while I was deployed in Iraq and he has got to be one of the most down to earth people you can meet but I think he doesn't have the physical strength or speed to deal with GGG.
