300K at $60 a pop is 21 million in revenue, not including gate and sponsorship, which is much higher in a ppv fight typically . 7 times the 3 million garantee of an HBO fight.

who cares if a ppv sells crap numbers if it does 10 times the revenue of a non ppv fight? starting to get it?

you don't get my point, clealry. i understand what you are trying to say, but it is wrong . it's no an opinion to say that the sky is red when it is blue. it's called being wrong.
Cotto vs. Canelo was worth the purchase! Cotto vs. Marquez (A 42 yr. old man with knee problems, and has been out the game for "forever"), not so much. If you and 299,999 other people want to pay to see that, I'm not mad at you! Do you!

like cotto - marquez, cotto - canelo couldn't have been made any other way.

it is better to pay $60 than not seeing it at all. or rather, it's better to have the option. it's PPV or no fight. you understand that, right? it is not going to be on HBO, which you clearly think is a possibility. HBO would have to pay 5-10 X their budget. they can't do it. it's not just a matter of them being "Greedy." they can't spend several times their yearly boxing budget for one fight.

were you watching boxing when they made bradley - alexander? that was a bad, expensive fight. ended in a headbutt, and really didnt boost the stock of either guy much. remember how long it took for them to recover? they even fired some executives over it

and i'd pay for it in a hearbeat if the undercard wasn't an insult. styles make fights, and these are two hall of famers with typically crowd pleasing styles.

If B-Hop vs. Kovalev aired on HBO Championship Boxing, then so can Cotto vs, Marquez. Will it happen? I doubt it. Will Cotto actually drop 6lbs. to fight Marquez @ 147, when he fought Mayweather @ 154? I doubt that too! Like I said, if you want to drop $60 for Cotto vs. Marquez, "I'm not mad at 'cha!"

They are too far apart in weight and there is there that age issue.

And then if Cotto beats him they will blame it on the bum knee

                They already have.
Honestly though neither of these two guys should fight any young lions. This would be a nice last fight for both guys.

That will all depend in how healthy and what functional weight that Marquez can come in.

I don't want to see Marquez just take a beating

His last chance to get revenge on Marquez since he won't be fighting Pacquaio again? That's what this sounds like, they must plan on drying Cotto all the way out to get him back to 147.

150 should be the weight no way cotto will be full strength at 147 plus marquez has been out for a while so I doubt he's small right now good fight between two legends Marquez is my favorite Mexican fighter so would be a great chess match but cotto is the stronger bigger guy and will break Marquez down but Marquez will go out guns blazing
