i think you are on the ball with this one Knicktilldeath.
to me if cotto fights JMM i think i would root for JMM and im a huge Cotto fan but i dont see this being good for cotto only good for JMM if he wins. if cotto wins he would of beat a man thats too old and "hurt" (wether he has recovered or not he will still be considered hurt by boxing fans )

Maybe a 150 pound catchweight, I know Cotto isn't a true middleweight, I think he was only 153 for his last fight so that could happen.

          Would much rather have-

          Cotto-Maidana
          Or
          Marquez-Maidana

Either way, as long as one fights Maidana
Maidana is retired for good, he is no longer boxing so forget about Maidana.

I like the fight Cotto vs Marquez I clamor for that fight since Marquez move up to 147, if Marques is 90% good on that knee he would beat Cotto IMHO.

Or just let Cotto come down to 149 and Marquez at 144.5 still competitive.

...........back to the old guard one more time? It's past time for both to go!
This type of fight does nothing to promote the sport.
Two past primes picking up the pennies and it being sold to the fans as a prime time bout. BS!

At what weight though? JMM is too small for Cotto.

                  Maidana will be back...

Regardless, if cotto v marqiez gets made... Cotto will beat the living shiiit out of marquez..
Cotto is going to bomb on an older, slower, smaller, stationary opponent

The man has made a career of fighting larger fighters. Not to mention his last 5 fights were against fighters who were not only taller, had longer reaches, out weighed him, two of which might have been as heavy as 180lbs in the ring. In a boxing world where multiple fighters are getting away with making a career off smaller opponents being out weighed, Cotto should be the last fighter questioned for fighting a smaller man. I still like the Bradley fight. Since its highly unlikely Cotto will fight early 2016, if Bradley looks good against Pac, and Cotto wins his next fight, it could launch both of them into a fight in December. The question being, who does Cotto fight in the interim? Roc Nation will want a decent fighter if they have to fork over another 15 mil to Cotto. Someone mentioned Maidana. Knowing he already said he may move up in weight, its a good winnable scrap for Cotto. I also think it would excite boxing fans.
Yes, but he drained the **** out of all of those bigger guys. A-side, right?
