I'm not one to say this fight definitely can't happen on HBO. I believe Peter Nelson bows to the god of making good &/or competitive fights between top guys just like Stevenson vs Kovalev would be unlike most of these other cats with power in boxing.

That said Nelson does have other gods he must bow to now with his new position & I can't see that allowing him to risk a fight between undefeated P4P discussed HBO fighters in the 2nd half of the year on a fight that has a lot of bs involved over multi years that I still don't believe ENOUGH people really care about happening or not happening. I think most of us think it'd be a good fight if it went down, but only a few are highly invested in that fight.

Look, we know you're just being cute with that answer because Golovkin "ducked" Ward, and because he didn't move up to 168, but he is doing just fine at unifying belts at his division.

What you can't deny is that Ducking and cherrypicking is NOT a eastern-european phenomenon. This is clearly popular in Western culture. Whether it's in fake WWE wrestling with the cowardly "heel" who is braggadocios but back out of every fight when the "good guy" calls him out. Or whether it's Urban youth in the U.S. sucker punching people in public (google: knockout game). Floyd has popularized this with his classic long-term duck of his archnemesis and he even made it believable as some defended him and blamed the other side more. But now we have guys like Deontey Wilder who aren't even ashamed or are trying to hide it. Wilder is so comfortable being a cherry-picking ducker, that he publicly admits it.

Rap songs are being dedicated to how cool it is to be a calculated, cherry picking businessman fighter. Every time there is a discussion about someone ducking somebody, somehow a Al Haymon affiliated fighter is embroiled in the controversy. Yet a small segment of subhuman, degenerate posters on this forum find a way to defend it all away.

Your other comments on social issues may be relevant where you're from but I've never heard of those particular problems in my area.

Picking out one aspect and failing to address the overall point is a female trait. It's called hysteria. It is not about Floyd but we would be politically correct to not include him into the point we were making.

Wonder how little of this purse Kovalev will get? You have people talking about the family type of atmosphere over at Main Events. Not sure if it is Duva or Kov's manager, but somebody is screwing him royally as far as the percentage of his fight purses that he actually gets. That isn't very family like.

You guys get a little carried away. Pretty sure the offer is 50-50 and they have to fight on HBO. Why would they turn it down? Unless they can get significantly more $ somewhere else.
