You don't have to tell me, Kovalev is not a draw. What's sad is, despite being Canada's only champ, Stevensons a mediocre draw, probably 3rd best in his hometown lol

Being the 3rd best draw in Montreal isn't a laughing matter. His fight with fonfara was a big event

It's pretty weak, when #1 and 2 are washed up former champs. And 6k attendance and a 50% drop in TV ratings, that's not a big event

All those 3 washed up fighters sell more tickets and generate more money than kkkov. And kkkov hasn't been doing great numbers himself

Kovs got an excuse, he doesn't have any built in fanbase. Stevensons got one of the best, but he's lost their respect and interest

As mentioned Stevenson may consider it only because he feels now is time to cash-out due to getting nearer to the end of his career. I would favor Kovalev, but Stevenson still has the punchers chance. Would be an interesting fight for how long it would last. A good appetizer before the anticipated Ward-Kovalev showdown. However, the Stevenson chin won't be able to take as much shots as Pascal and Hopkins took.

The HBO-Showtime contractual situation can be worked out if there was a big public demand. It would be a bit different from May-Pac and Lewis-Tyson as those were PPV events which both channels agree to split the revenue. It would be odd to have both networks air a non-pay-per-view match at the same time.

Why is this still being brought up? It's over. The Kovalev camp have moved on.

Stevenson was called Chickenson in front of a hometown crowd. Chickenson is a huge joke in Montreal. They're not even rooting for him when he fights.

                  They love Pascal, in contrast.
