The guy says that Povetkin announced his fight, then Wilder announced his fight with Duhapes a week or two later.
This is merely spin.
Wilder's voluntary defense had been announced well before. It isn't speculation. It's what happened.
Povetkin had intended to wait for his shot with Wilder.
Wilder's voluntary defense was then announced.
The announcement of the actual opponent took quite a while.
Between the announcement of the voluntary defense and the late announcement of the opponent, on about a months notice (an opponent no one had ever heard of), Povetkin's fight with Wach was announced.
So the guy is simply spin doctoring.
Dahupes didn't even get a proper camp.
He initial said he'd go train in England, and ultimately just trained in France.
Gotta wonder about the sparring quality for heavyweights over there.
