Scheduling negotiations for October and having the fight in January was right on track. Wilder fighting Duhaupas in September kept everything on track. It didn't affect Povetkin one bit.
No, Wilder's second voluntary against Duhaupas delayed the fight with Povetkin.

Wilder was afraid after seeing Povetkin KO Perez, and started making unfounded accusations about Povetkin being on PEDs. Then he petitioned for a SECOND voluntary after Molina.

Povetkin and his promoter wanted the fight in August, September or October. But the de****able Sulaiman bowed to the whims of his master, Al Haymon, and said negotiations didn't need to start until October.

Povetkin didn't "choose" to fight on the date Nov 4, he would have preferred to fight sooner, that choice was made for him by his promoter and the availability of a large venue and the availability of other boxers on the card for the major boxing event.

No good reason why Wilder can't fight Povetkin in March or April, except he's afraid and

I remember when Povetkin-Wach was announced for Nov 4, I thought "Oh no, Wilder will use this as an excuse to avoid Povetkin longer and demand another voluntary in January" And sure enough, he did.

I can't see a scenario where Deontay Wilder (presuming he beats Szpilka) does not fight Povetkin next. The WBC have ordered negotiations in January. The fight's gonna happen....

Even though it was said in June that the negotiations won't start until October and the fight in January. Ya'll hate Wilder so much ya'll will ignore the facts just to claim he's ducking someone.
Povetkin wanted the fight in Sept/Oct, actually.

He'd been on the shelf a while, and opted to take a fight, like two weeks after Wilder's fight, when Wilder opted to fight another bum.

So what if he isn't ready for a January fight. Maybe he was injured in the fight and needs a little time to heal.

In good faith negotiations, they could have made a deal. But Wilder went for a 3rd optional defense. They are just milking it.

This puts Povetkin back on the shelf. But the WBC went along with it, for some reason.

          Wilder can't run forever.

Unless Spilka deals with him, which he actually might.

Nonsense. Wilder had announced he was fighting in September already, Duhapes was yet another late notice opponent. They drug out the announcement. Povetkin clearly knew he wasn't going to be the opponent in the fight. This guy says that Povetkin announced the Wach fight a week before Wilder announced his fight. That was simply because of the late notice on the opponent. The fight itself had already been announced. And it had already been known Povetkin wasn't going to get the fight. Povetkin then got setup to fight Wach, 2 weeks after Wilder's fight.

That's a new one for me.

I'm pretty sure you just completely made that up.

His people know it, so they are steering him very carefully.

He likely thinks he's a great fighter.
