I heard HBO has an option on him. Or first refusal on his next fight or however that **** works.

That don't really make sense to me cuz he's not got the sexiest record & he's not notable for anything except giving GGG a few small problems, showing lotsa heart + winning the ESPN2 tournament. I mean does anyone wanna see Canelo vs Monroe or Cotto vs Monroe? There isn't really anything for him at 160 on HBO so idk why they are holding him. Assuming thats the case. I definitely know he was talking of fighting on HBO later this year a few times after the GGG fight so HBO musta told him something or he has some sort of contract with them still.

Weird reading that article that Haymon is randomly brought up. He'd probably be a good addition for PBC. Sounds like he's making a play to get with Haymon like Garcia & Andrade have done. Hopefully more name guys get with PBC over the next year or two. Looking forward to & hoping for an exodus happening to PBC.

Why would no one pick up Johnson-Monroe? that's a great undercard fight(likely Canelo-TBA) and a step up for both, the winner will also carry buzz having beaten a next level opponent. If not there's other fights, Stevens is good, I doubt anyone is afraid to fight Monroe. I think It's his promoter or it's him, with all the Haymon ass kissing I wouldn't be surprised if a pending lawsuit and inactivity is around the corner due to feeling like he's not getting what he deserves. Most fighters come up hard.
That's a good question and a good fight. Johnson is with Golden Boy and I guess Monroe Jr is just out there. Perfect undercard fight and I would love to see it.

GBP has Tureano Johnson if I recall. He can fight Lemieux, Canelo or GGG for way more money than Willie Monroe. Monroe is damaged goods. His record isn't attractive and he presents a risk to anyone that fights him. Taking on GGG was a terrible decision on his part. He probably realizes he needs Haymon now that he murdered his own career.

          Yes.

It was "poor me poor me, waaahhh, I was underpaid, now my promoter won't get me a big payday, ima quit boxing, waaaaahhh!"

Kovalev had 18 fights in a row without being paid. Even as WBO champion, he had nothing but small paydays until he fought Pascal.

But he never cried and he never quit.

Maybe, since he is in the sport, he spoke to a few guys and saw that they had fights coming up and getting paid well even though they are not "known" fighters. This relates to him and probably wishes he had someone like Haymon advising him back then cause now hes out of the sport and that unfortunate.

True, it took a lot of time for Kovalev to get going, but he has a stronger character than Monroe the crybaby.

This dude quit on his feet in the GGG fight. He keeps praising himself for the fight he put up but at the end of the day he lost like a bltch.

Lemiuex is a bit too far of a step up don't you think? I doubt that happens, esspecially if they plan to build Tureano a bit which I'd imagine they do for atleast one semi-big fight, which could be against Lem later down the road.

Who'd like to watch him in Europe? Nobody. He has to fight, take all the fights he can get, don't complain and buy useless stuff you can't afford.
Maybe they won't be turning in to watch him but i'd imagine there's plenty of fights he can get by travelling to places like the UK. The UK has a lot of guys around those weight classes who fight on well attended and sold out events and i'm sure fighting them is better than earning nothing. Boxing is on the up in the UK at the moment and events are bringing in big revenue, i'm sure he could make a few little earners. He's not a bad fighter at all and been in with good competition which makes him marketable as an opponent for a British fighter. His name is already out there from the GGG fight, get a couple of decent wins and he's right back in the picture for a shot at somebody probably and a decent payday.
