Willie Monroe Jr just posted this. Kinda sad.

I think you are mistaken as to what "getting tv dates" meant a few years ago, and what it means under Haymon. You make absolutely no sense. For years HBO & Showtime were dominated by the top few promoters. Small promoters couldn't get a sniff at headlining an HBO or Showtime card. Haymon has put on damn near 40 cards this year using small promoters, save DiBella, and they've been on major TV networks. If Haymon didn't have the TV dates he has where else would these small promoters go to get TV dates? You said yourself HBO has limited dates. And we all know those dates are going to K2, Golden Boy, Main Events, Top Rank, and Roc Nation.
Hint: Being paid a flat fee to provide a promoters license and act as a site coordinator is not what "getting a tv date" used to mean.Comment

But you're laying blame on Haymon for a problem he didn't cause and it isn't his problem to rectify. If Monroe had actually been with Haymon he wouldn't have accepted the GGG fight for $100,000. That fight sold out the Forum in LA. I don't know Monroe's managing/promotional situation but I'm sure if he could go to Haymon he'd already be there. But once again, Haymon didn't cause Monroe's problem and he doesn't have to fix it. His dealings were with K2 and HBO so they're more liable than Haymon. Now, I don't think K2 and HBO should have to do something for him but it would be a nice gesture to put him on an undercard. He did step and fight GGG for short money when nobody else did. But ultimately it's up to his promoter and manager to fix this.Gary Shaw and other small promoters have had a reasonable amount of dates on HBO and Showtime in years past.
But besides that, I don't think we are in much disagreement. HBO has a lot of stars and their budget has decreased from its heyday. Haymon has all of the other dates and tv slots and if he wanted Willie Monroe, he could have him anytime he wants (but it appears he doesn't). So I was just saying that Willie is misguided in placing his blame and his praise. I'm sure Petullo would like to get Willie a fight but it is very difficult being a small promoter who actually wants to be a promoter (takes risks and gets to make decisions) instead of just a haymon employee. ****, if I were a smaller promoter I probably would've given in to Haymon already...It sounds like a nice deal financially. DiBella and the others don't actually have to put any of their own money up, and get paid a nice fee by Haymon to use their license.
Showtime could actually be a nice place for Willie, but Ezpinoza seems to take orders from Haymon, as well.Comment

So you're okay with him not fighting at all, not leaving BP, not even talking to them? We're living in the 21st century, nobody can tell me he wasn't able to speak to his manager for seven months. So he steps up, fights one of the greatest fighters in the world, gives a good showing of himself. Now he can;t get any decent fights and your excuse is that he should go back to fighting tomato cans and no hopers? Like i said, boxing fans in a nutshell. The guy didnt say one thing about money or overpricing himself. He wants tough fights against good fighters. That's suddenly a crime and it's his fault because he shows off a nice time piece? OK.Comment
