HBO should be open to all promoters if they want to put on the best fights. Let's see if Peter Nelson is a man of his word.
Well, we also have to see if Haymon wants PBC fighters on HBO too.

        But lets hope.

Open to all promoters doesn't equate to airing any crap matchup that they present to him. Good to see that he's willing to work with everyone across the board but I don't see Haymon abandoning his PBC affiliated networks to air fights on HBO although I would love to see kovalev vs Stevenson and GGG vs the winner of quillen vs Jacobs. Now those are some HBO worthy fights!

Hershman asked about haymon fighters appearing on HBO last dec by SI.com

"I don’t rule anything out. If you look at [Haymon’s] roster, you can’t rule out any single one of them. The problem continues to be, ‘Is there a philosophy that matches up with ours, is there a way to do this that is responsible for everybody?’ We’re open to that conversation...We’ll see where it goes. We’re open to it, but we have to fulfill all the criteria we’re looking for."

Meaning Haymon don't want to put any of his fighters in real fights and we ain't paying for haymon mismatches. When that changes you will see haymon fighters on HBO against HBO fighters. This guy is Hershman apprentice I won't hold my breathe on any major changes.

              Like The Idea But.....

I think it would a good idea for Al Haymon and company to allow there guys to go fight on HBO. But I don't think that happens

              1. The lawsuits need to be resolved with Golden Boy and Top Rank. Whether they both drop the cases, or they come to some form of agreement.

              2. I think that HBO would want to probably sign some of the Al Haymon advised guys to exclusive HBO contracts. But everyone knows that won't happen.

              3. Also if Al Haymon wanted to come back. Is he signaling in some way that his PBC series isn't working. That he's already starting to get worried about the primetime network's viewership rating, and if it's actually losing the networks big time money? As well as it's costing his investors money putting up all the boxing content throughout various networks.

              4. PBC hasn't even gone a full year yet. Isn't it way to early for them to start thinking about putting their boxers back on premium networks?

I hope one day us fans get to see matchups like Kovalev vs Stevenson, Crawford vs Danny Garcia.....etc.....but I have a hard time believing we get to see those elite matchups between rivaling promoters anytime soon.

so if that doesnt happen, we can assume its Haymons fault?

Death to boxing on premium cable and PPV! If you want to put a boxing talk show, documentary, or All-Access / 24/7 on a premium cable channel, fine, but leave the sport for broadcast and cable TV.

I agree with all your points except 1. Don't see why the golden boy/top rank lawsuits need to be resolved before haymon allows his fighters on hbo. HBO has multiple top fighters not signed to either golden boy or top rank that offer big money and a huge platform for haymon fighters to face. Top rank was pissed that roc nation stole Cotto. I can't see either promoter working with each other any time soon, yet hbo still has no problem working with both independently of each other. They could do the same with haymon and top rank/golden boy.
