Riiiiiight; He Models His Promoting Style After Floyd-All About Safe Trips To Bank

Haymon is very slow to make fights; fights fans want to see. He wants to hoard more than 200 fighters, not pair them against the best of the best... He's not interested or motivated to see who the best is, he wants to poke them along for a safe payday here and there, and if he can capitalize on a big name on the decline, pairing with one of his prime fighters, he'll do that and claim it as a big event, for having two big names vs each other. All about the money. And every time he sends in Garcia vs Salko or Garcia vs Guerrero, It's a safer pay day that's Garcia vs Shawn Porter or Amir Khan vs Keith Thurman... Haymon is a fraud. Free Boxing means each Network pays HIM for those safe fights. The wording in his contracts with fighters is "they just fight who he puts in the ring; they have no input not negotiating power to choose a fight". So he's the classic pimp, and all his fighters are hookers. He tells them which corner to stand on for a safe trick. Bad for Boxing.

I hope this doesn't mean that he is going to fight a bunch of soft contenders.

Degale has stated that he wants to face the best of the division so they should let him. By winning meaningful fights he will make much more money

Well, yet another fighter admiting Haymon is a promoter and manager. And of course all the Haymon sycophants are out in force for this thread. Haymon is not paying these fighters outrages purses because he cares about them or because his brother did not get paid well and he has a soft place in his heart for fighters. He is overpaying them to squash the competition, unfairly I might add. This is not capitalism it is the opposite. Its unfair competition and once he or if he is able to break the competition and make his game the only game in town then fighters will start to see their purse amounts drastically fall.

Another reason he is overpaying fighters is it has the effect of causing disharmony in other promotional outfits. Because you then have fighters who are not with Haymon asking as to why they are not getting paid like Haymon fighters? This leds to fighters trying to break their contracts with other promoters. Mikey Garcia comes to mind.

the fighters are the ones who put their lives on the line and suffer the consequences, if haymon is there to bend the rules to pay them more, so be it, the fighters get in the ring, not the managers or promoters. the rules hes breaking were put to make sure the fighters werent getting lowballed lets remember. it kinda sounds like nash's game theory. doing whats best for yourself along with everyone rather than just for yourself. my only hope is haymon makes better matchups and includes some more outside guys, hes already put on 3 fighters whom were co-promoted by TR on PBC and hes got oquendo fighting for a world title whom just went back to GBP.

Haymon's fighters are making a lot more money fighting the same caliber of opponents that GGG, Top Rank and Golden Boy fighters are fighting. DeGale just made the same amount of money fighting on Showtime as GGG made fighting on PPV. If I were a fighter, I would praise Al Haymon too.

Dirrell and Bute are actually better opponents.
