Likely things such as Chavez Jr. posting pictures of his checks with Haymon's name on them. You typically get paid by your promoter, not adviser.
Chavez Jr has his own ****ing company! Rather than simply having a promoter get the money, before paying out whatever's owed to the fighter, Haymon Sports acts as a pass-through, offering a single site for all of the revenue streams, before then paying out the share to Chavez Jr's company (which basically pays Chavez Jr the entire amount).
You know, Bob Arum has a law degree from Harvard, he actually graduated cum laude according to Wikipedia. I would think he knows what he's doing here.
Maybe he's just trying to get a settlement out of Haymon. Maybe he thinks he can win. Maybe he' just trying to file a nuisance suit to discourage them.
Let's see how this all plays out.
His game plan was made clear in the previous lawsuit, where he attempted to target the investors supporting PBC. He is a law graduate so I'd expect him to realise that his chances of winning the lawsuit or slim to none. I do, however, believe he sees the value in the hassle these lawsuits could cause.
Ultimately, PBC is its budding stage; it is not a financial juggernaut that would people would be willing to invest in if they knew it would come would legal hassle. His previous attempt at targeting the investors point towards Arum having the goal of making PBC more problem than it is worth to potential investors.
Just so you know, what Haymon is doing would not be considered a monopoly because he's not the only show in town.
A monopoly was AT&T when they was the only phone company until the government broke them up into Bell companies and you got the MCIs and GTEs phone companies.
Just because he has a bigger share of the market doesn't mean he is monopolizing it.....Ask Google.
It doesn't have to be a monopoly yet, just creating an environment that would give himself a monopoly would be illegal.
Sometimes the gov't cares, sometimes they don't. Who Knows what will come of this, IMO Haymon will settle out of court with Arum, and will drag it out until PBC fails.

Haymon sports is the broadcaster that paid Chavez jr Promotions, not chavez jr directly. The promotional company then paid the fighter. This case is probably getting thrown out as well. TR is really grasping at straws. Checking tweets for the word promoter? If there is no contract that states that they are being promoted by him then it doesn't matter smh. Bobs losing it in his old age.

The biggest anti trust law firms in the world have teamed up and are suing UFC for the same thing on behalf of the fighters, and they are doing the same exact thing.... Using twitter images...
Who knows what there doing, the most successful anti trust lawyers in the world, or your uneducated lucky to work at Wendy's ignorant ass?
Shut up and get my cheeseburger before you answer that.

Boy you tight about this lawsuit like you gone actually get a dime lol. Think about it Jr, promoter is a position, a contract has to be signed for it, no contract no promoter, hell the ali act provision was thrown out and not included in the ********* so why mention the twitter thing at all?
And PBC ain't the UFC. Fighters can fighter wherever they want because they aren't signed to it and they bought the time from networks willing to sell, no one was forced here. TR doesn't have a leg to stand on thats why the first one got thrown out.
but hey after TR goes under you can have uncle bob or debuff go grab that burger for you lol

Do you have legislation or cases to back up what you have just said. If someone does not have a monopoly in the market they're doing business in, how would the courts go about determining that they have created an environment where it would be possible to give themselves a monopoly.

Are you familiar with the principle of judicial precedent? It's not ''sometimes they care and sometimes they don't." With the exception of the law changing, judicial error, or an overruling decision by the superior courts, the decisions made are legally binding.
You can look at previous cases to determine the outcome of an existing case. In the absence of distinguishing factors, previous cases (that deal with the same law) are what judges will rely on.
I really do chuckle at some of the posters on this site; always screaming ''*****s are lawyers now" when they are the ones to spew the most shit when it comes to legal matters.
PBC Attorney: So, Mr. Arum, I take it that before PBC existed you were regularly promoting fights on ABC, NBC, CBS, Spike, Bounce and all of these other outlets, and because of their aggressive expansion you can no longer do so.
Arum: Well, not exactly.
Attorney: OK, most of those networks.
Arum: No.
Attorney: Well ...
Arum: Well, you can't just let PBC put on more fights than Top Rank. It's simply not fair. Plus they pay more. Now all the fighters want to fight for them.
Attorney: Your honor ...
Judge: Bob, GTFO and go promote a fight in China or something.
Is somebody still posting that tired @$$ picture of Chavezjrs check? Cmon now
Fk Arum..that dudes been worse for the sport than Haymon ever has. This lawsuits bogus, basically Arum is suing Haymon for not sitn around waiting for TV dates like the rest of em greedy promoters instead buying his own TV slots for his fighters...fk Arum...just die already!

Yep. As someone who works with lawyers but is in no way shape or form a lawyer (I do IT work), this would be my best guess to what he's doing. He knows Waddell and Reed could get cold feet if their name keeps coming up in lawsuits. In a lot of cases like this, they just want to keep them busy in court until the investors decide "to heck with this" and walk away. It wouldn't be the first time this happened.
It might work. Arums got millions of dollars, he might as well strike back at the company that's trying to run him out of business.
