lol Haymon charges most of his fighters 20% while sanctioning bodies charge 3% he's in this for profit not for charity smh at this post.

Haymon is paying fighters inflated purses from this war chest because the more he pays the more goes in his pockets. He's tasking money from the investors and putting it straight in his pocket. No conflict of interest there when he's controlling the networks and the investor money.

Maybe he's just trying to get a settlement out of Haymon. Maybe he thinks he can win. Maybe he' just trying to file a nuisance suit to discourage them.

Let's see how this all plays out.

I cannot even figure out what Arum is suing for here. It is not like he had any deals with "free" networks lately. Top Rank has been cable based for ages now. They may have lost out on an occasional ESPN card, but that is a drop in the bucket. There is nothing that pbc has done that interferes with Top Rank boxing doing business. Flooding the market? Sorry but you will not find me arguing about more boxing to watch.

I don't even think Arum is expecting this to go anywhere. I think he is just trying to tie up PBC in some litigation just for kicks LOL.

actively trying to monopolize any industry is illegal in the U.S.

Buying up all the tv time, signing almost every fighter, even while they are already signed to another promoter, blocking other promoters attempts to make fights, rent venues, these could ALL be considered forms of trying to gain a monopoly.

It's very hard to prove and win these cases, but it's possible.

Also, breaking the Ali Act is illegal, which Haymon is clearly doing, but again, how does top rank prove this, and does the U.S. Gov't even give a ****, is the question.

Lol TR complaining that PBC are airing too many fights and have contracts with SpikeTV, Bounce, NBC, etc OMFG that's comical. It has to be 105 pages of comedy

If it takes for you to be a lawyer to have a laugh at this and have an idea it isn't going anywhere, then I advise you to develop a little more common sense.

That's what came to mind. Why does Top Rank care about BounceTV or Spike? They work exclusively with HBO and Unimas and stream their prospects.

I don't get it. Top Rank had a deal with CBS/Showtime and decided to abandom ship after he used to for leverage against hbo. They had CBS backing them, promised us boxing on network tv and instead, about 6-7 months later they're back on premium cable. Arum can cry all he wants about the PBC but the fact remains that he had the opportunity to change the landscape himself and chose not to.

Just so you know, what Haymon is doing would not be considered a monopoly because he's not the only show in town.

A monopoly was AT&T when they was the only phone company until the government broke them up into Bell companies and you got the MCIs and GTEs phone companies.

Just because he has a bigger share of the market doesn't mean he is monopolizing it.....Ask Google.
