I'm not saying he should've I'm saying it ultimately comes down to him whether or not he fights competition of quality, and for whatever reasons there may be, he's fighting another massively overmatched opponent.Comment

Hopkins? Lol....Hopkins has stated several times that he'd never face Andre Ward and that fight wouldn't go on the undercard of Cotto-Canelo which is the crux of my argument. Also rules out Cleverly since he just fought. Ward has already beaten Boone and isn't Simakov the guy who DIED?
Agnew isn't any better or worse than Brand from what I can see. So it's like....who cares? It's not as if people were going to be creaming had he chose Agnew.
At least Agnew is an actual LHW & took Kovalev to 7. My point is from a marketing standpoint, it would be better for Ward to face and defeat some of the same guys that gave Kovalev some work. It also wouldn't hurt to actually have some competition before facing the champ. Instead, he's fighting underweight bums. Face it, he's playing it safe & then expects to catapult to a title fight with Kovalev. He's only hurting himself fighting these cans, as Kovalev is much above these guys. If Ward stays on this path, he will be ill prepared for Sergey and will get Krushed.Last edited by SUBZER0ED; 10-29-2015, 04:46 PM.Comment

Where did I mention GGG? You said Ward was top p4p and I pointed out that his resume these past 4 years is mediocre. Maybe you, like jerk diggler, is measuringcurrent p4p status based on entire careers. That's ok albeit odd. If Hagler chose to return you guys would have to put him in the top 3 p4p at once.Comment

Since the ultimate goal is Kovalev, who is the champion, why would he not be Ward's gauge? Oh I see, because Ward thinks he's better. Andre may have second thoughts when he's marveling at the clever arrangement of the ring's lights...from the canvas.Comment

Yeah, I corrected that about Simakov. I also acknowledged that Hopkins would be too expensive.

Ward has a fight or two before Kovalev where I think he will have to step up his completion level. This is a special circumstance.Comment
