By having better records than one of the five and then waiting until one of them loses a fight.

In any case Khan may have the talent to be in the top 5 but he definitely does not have the record.

Why do you think they ducked? Because they know they can't win.

Khan's top of the division now because Floyd conceded defeat to Khan. You can't duck that many times and just pretend like it didn't happen. It is what it is, Khan's at the top of 147, forcing boxers to retire rather than face him.
flatline is definitely the right name for you, your intelligence is dead

khan is certainly not no. 1, but has all the opportunity to be and doesn't take it! should have been a fight with Alexander when he was champ. since that didn't happen, he was still offered summer ibf brook fight which, it so confident of winning, should have took it and then after putting the idea of being may jrs last fight in September at the end of the a big Wembley win, just shut up and wait!!

let the media/fans apply the pressure and justification because he'd be coming off the only other biggest fight off that year so far, there would be a big thirst to see the two winners fight to effectively unify the division (I know Floyd didn't have the wbo strap by September but he win it).

that would have put him right up there, but no!!! he *****ed and *****ed some more, went with algieri and then talked so much s#it he became the joke of the boxing world, every other day an article coming up with him sounding ever more obsessed, and for that, no more chances. mayweather disappointingly then fought berto, when it should have been brook in my opinion, or Bradley.

I reckon he's fifth or around that area. He needs to fight some better opponents now though. I think him and Manny Pacquiao would do his career good.

Thats fair, however the fight was at 140. I think Garcia should have an honourable mention in the top 10 as he was the 140lb world champion and has since moved up. But I dont think he'd be ranked over Khan at 147 as Khan has done more at the weight

His achievements at the weight are:

A very poor showing against Diaz
              Outclassed an ancient Collazo
              A whitewash against Alexander
              Either way fight with Algieri

The top guys at 147 currently:

              Pacquiao
              Bradley
              Brook
              Thurman
              Porter

(You can throw Garcia somewhere, given he was the 140 champion moving up)

              Your thoughts?
How can Thurman be there when u complain about what khan has done at WW?

Imo, based on previous achievements at 140 (your criteria for DG) and skill/talent level, added together with his complete humiliation of da, I'd say khan is top 5. My top 5 is pretty straightforward :

              Pacman
              Bradley
              Brook
              Porter
              Khan

Maidana could have a case because of the mayweather fights but he's been inactive and DG simply because of what he did at 140.

I think it just shows how devoid of depth welter is right now but we could have some classic match ups if all these guys fight each other.

There's a reason Floyd, Manny, Marquez, Bradley, Broner and Brook ducked Khan like their life depended on it.

This guy is funny as hell. I'd green k him if I could, but he got banned, probably for making this post.

I think it all depends on which Khan we're talking about.

If it's the on point Khan who brings his A game then yes he's top 5 and most guys would struggle against him.

If it's not A game Khan then a lot of guys can trouble him.

True, but still. He was beaten by Garcia badly. And regardless of Khan fighting above 140, he's still fighting 140 lbers.

My criteria for Garcia ranked in the top 10 is based on him being THE champion at 140, and his win over Paulie. By honourable mention, id probably rank him around where TBRB have. I cant apply the same for Khan as he was simply a contender at 140, so we're left with his win over Alexander. I personally dont put that much value on that win as Alexander was beaten pretty shortly before, pretty badly aswell. As for 'skill/talent' level, surely his either way fight with Algieri puts him pretty far out from the top 5? Algieri might be some beast at 147 but he hasnt shown that yet.
