Khan is only a top 5 147lber for sure if a plane goes down with maybe 7 or 8 elite level 147lbers. I actually think he can compete in the division & perhaps be a top 5 guy, but he's shown lil desire to do so thus far so I can't put him there til he does something.

Personally I would rank Pacquiao, Brook, Thurman, Bradley, Porter and Garcia ahead of Khan. Khan is ranked higher than Maidona due to Maidona's inactivity. That would make Khan the 7th best welterweight in the world. To go higher he needs to beat one of the 6 welterweights I placed ahead of him.

            khan doesn't.

garcia doesn't but 1. he just moved to 147 2. he was #1 at 140.

khan doesn't have a win over a current top 10 WW.

khan was never #1 guy at 140 like garcia, bradley.
SO no one of them have beaten A TOP 5 WELTERWIEGHT ?

So they aren't in the top 5 either.

Lower top 10 based on achievements.

Talent wise, he'll probably be in and around the top 7.

I know these are all above him:

              Bradley
              Pacquiao
              Brook
              Thurman
              Porter
              Garcia

For sure. He'll probably come in after those guys somewhere.

you don't have to beat a top 5 to be a top 5.

a win over a current top 10 WW is good enough. AND KHAN DON'T EVEN HAVE THAT.

Also, has Garcia even fought at Welterweight properly? I don't see the need to have him in the list. Having him in at 9 is a bit random, it seems like he's been shoehorned into that list for no real reason. He definitely should be ranked higher than Khan as a fighter but not proven anything at WW yet.

Having Khan has high as 6 would be being generous to be honest.
Not to forget Garcia flattened Khan with ease when they fought. So until proven otherwise, he should be ranked higher than Khan as he proved he was a much better fighter.

But they have though? Bradley, Pacquiao, Brook all have wins over current top 5 welterweights. Thurman has wins over 2 top 10 opponents, and Porter was recently champion who's beaten 1 current and 2 former WW champions in his last 5 fights as well as only losing to the #1 ranked WW in the world.

Khan's resume at 147 just isn't that good.

Manny would be a perfect test for Khan. This fight will make it clear for all how much he is talented.
