This. I'd be a fan of anyone trying to "derecognise" all the groups. Idk what exactly fans can do to get rid or 1 or all these groups is the biggest problem doe.

Pretty much!! It's gotten to the point that winning a UFC title is way more meaningful than winning a title in boxing.

Had Broner a string of WBA defences, or was a unified champion, id understand. Im not trying to single out Broner, he beat up a relatively decent opponent and I give him his dues. The situation surrounding his title however is disgraceful.

The WBC are equally as corrupt. How on earth can you have both an active world champion and an active interim champion? That makes no sense at all. The WBO have long been compromised by promoters, most notably Frank Warren here in the UK and more recently by Top Rank.

However, I feel the WBC/IBF/WBO do not water down nearly as much what it means to be 'world champion'. They all usually crown 1 champ at a time, and the WBC have recently tried to force unification fights, so credit where its due. Having these three orgs only would be a massive step in the right direction. Ultimately they need to change, however.

The WBA on the other hand SEVERELY dilute world championship honours. They dont care anymore, and its a slap in the face of the sport.
Yeah. Someone posted the WBA has like 78 world championship fights this year. Each one got them extra % in sanctioning fees. Utterly disgraceful.

I know you are not singling out AB. You've been well ahead on this. You've been killing the WBA for a minute. Kudos to you for that.

2.5x the amount of title fights than the IBF and WBO and 2x the amount of the WBC. It's unreal.
LOL I just referenced this. Unfuckinbelievable. each time, extra sanctioning fee.

I swear boxing is more corrupt with the lawyers running it then when the mob ran it. How is that even possible.

probably since back then there was only 1 or 2 sanctioning bodies and more people cared about shady stuff whereas right now no one really gives a ****! There is no "authority" or central governing body to punish them and there isn't public outrage.

So it shouldn't be any surprise that Broner was elevated. There was no Super champion, he was the World champion, so he moves up and then the Interim champion will move up. This is how the WBA operates.

But it really hurts EVERY organization as it's diminishing the prestige of being a "World champion" as you now have the oldest organization training the public that "World champion" = fake champion. This is a big problem and I'm surprised the other 3 recognized bodies haven't done more to try to either change the WBA's mind, or, work collectively to de-recognize the WBA.

If the WBC, IBF and WBO all decided they were no longer recognizing the WBA, specifically because of their Super champion policy, went public about it, no longer allowed unifications with the WBA and refused to rank any fighter that held any WBA affiliated regional title, complete blackballing of the WBA, it would force the WBA to buckle and honestly, the other 3 organizations would be far more powerful and would make more money if they could squeeze out the WBA and return the sport to a 3 organization setup, with the WBO replacing the WBA.
If sites like Boxingscene started to stop recognising the WBA, it'd have some impact. The IBHOF should grow a set of balls and stop recognising these paper championships. They are in a position to as their HOF rival in the WBHOF has slipped tremendously in recent times, meaning they don't have to worry about them.

Boxing used to have 1 champion per division.

Now we have 2 divisions with 4 champions from only 1 sanctioning body

There's an interim interim champion at both Middleweight and Super Featherweight

Idk how it works but Japanese commission don't allow WBA interim. Others commissions could follow the step.
