the fight hasn't been signed, nor do we know if it gets signed, if it will be on PPV.

It doesn't help his negotiating position with Canelo or Cotto, and now makes the things he and his team said regarding the Ward situation utterly ridiculous. He comes of as a little guy acting like a big boy.
Unlike the other ppv stars, he lacks a great win before going the PPV route. He needs this.
I do think the replay should do well.
Well- I was strictly referring to the actual event itself and the people who attended. Not the PPV numbers.
I said when this fight was announced that it shouldn't be on PPV, it would of gotten a lot more viewers on regular HBO and the Garden was gonna sell out regardless, most likely.
But it is what it is, it was on PPV and I could care less how much money Loeffler/K2 lose. It probably would of had more success on HBO, but it being on PPV and having only 100k buys or whatever, does that really hurt him?
I feel you about the fans talking about starpower and crap.... but me personally: I don't give a *** about A-Side bullcrap, I just want GGG to fight Canelo next. Canelo is the superstar, do what he wants- just make it happen. GGG needs that fight. And yes, you're right, a win over Canelo would be a win that will give him "PPV starpower"
But as far as the actual event, it was definitely a success. That crowd was rockin' bro. Everyone there was for GGG, basically. I saw all kinds of different people wearing GGG gear and it was definitely not a pro-Kazakh-Eastern Euro crowd.

Let me just say this to you-I hope you, natas and some of the decent GGG fans reject the stuff from Misanthropicny, jc8804, mr fantastic and the rest of the guys using GGG as a symbol for their twisted racial beliefs. Liking GGG doesn't make you a **** and not liking GGG doesn't make you a racist.
Canelo doesn't really need to fight GGG so GGG is going to have to make a choice-Lee, heiland, Johnson or go up to fight Ward.
If he beats Ward, then beats Canelo (which is very possible)he has the resume defining win like the other PPV stars had before they took off.

I analyze what happened. Had he met expectations-I'd have said so. His fans got a little too high on him and now posters are calling them out on that. That is what the forum is designed for.
There are more than 4 IMO but that isn't the issue.
The issue is simple-GGG failed to meet sales expectation for the PPV. If I and other posters want to discuss that-we surely can and will.
If you don't like that this is the topic of discussion go to another thread.
