Why do people want to see Golovkin face a fighter 2 weight classes above? (Ward)

Let me know when he gets back in the ring against a live body, not a Paul Smith.

Is Ward a PROVEN FIGHTER? Well... four years ago he was well on his way to becoming one but it seems he got sidetracked along the way and forgot to continue his boxing career.

An no, I do not think a Ward fight does anything at all for Golovkin until he has completed his job at middleweight and decides to move to SMW permanently. At that time, yes it will mean something as he will be fighting other super middleweight fighters for their titles as well.

But a non title fight against Ward while Golovkin is still fighting for MW titles does nothing to advance his goals at all. As for his resume, that is something to consider when his career is over, not in the middle of it.
Ok i'm done. There is no help for you. SMH

Because they don't believe anyone else is good enough to beat him or pose a threat to him. I don't mind him cleaning out and unifying his division before he moves up, that's the way I'd want to do it as well. I think Ward could have properly moved up by now and fight legitimate light heavyweights, rather than just hang around, doing nothing, waiting for a middleweight to move up. If he's gonna hang around, at least stay active and fight live bodies at 168.

Dude this is freaking sad. Honestly i'd expect stuff like this from the poster Golovkin cause it seems he just says stuff for shock value. But this guy...he's actually serious

Exactly! But you cannot expect Ward fans to understand this. They think it is perfectly fine for Ward to sit on the sidelines while everyone else is fighting, waiting for a middleweight to move up to challenge him. They actually think P4P rankings mean something when EVERY WEB SITE AND BOXING PUBLICATION AND BOXING FAN HAS A DIFFERENT TOP 10 OF THEIR OWN. The do not even understand the meaning of P4P or why such lists exist. But what can you expect from fans who think it is perfectly find for their favourite fighter to do nothing for almost two years.

gonzales was a minimumweight, and is 5'3" tall! ward and golovkin are around 5-10 lbs apart on fight night.

sometimes people should just log off of bscene. the next step is the personal attack
Your post proves my point! P4P lists are not to be used to make fights between the fighters on the list. They are not and have never been meant for that purpose. Seems ridiculous when I use P4P for Golovkin - Gonzalez doesn't it? Well it is just as ridiculous to use P4P to justify Ward - Golovkin or Golovkin - ANY P4P FIGHTER. P4P does not exist for that purpose.

let's keep talking about how there's no ppoint in calling for p4p fighters to fight each other when they are around 5-10 lbs apart.

                    .
sure, its great IF the circumstances make sense for both guys. At the moment though it doesnt, as GGG's dance card is full for the next 8-12 months.

And just because NOW, at THIS moment in time, the situation might work for Ward, that doesnt mean GGG has to drop everything he's spent the better part of 3 years lining up, just to appease Ward. Sorry, but Ward doesnt have that kind of juice......

The pure boxing fans suspect that GGG might be extraordinary. But he's in a weak division and we're never going to see it unless he steps up to someone who can test him. That's why. And he doesn't have to. But the greats do usually.
