I feel like anything under 275 is going to be criticized, whether it be justified or not. I'm expecting 250 being that it's his first ppv, opponent is not known/respected, and there's a lot of boxing coming up, particularly Canelo Cotto. Anyone who is budgeting 1ppv this fall is buying Canelo Cotto. The big marketing push should pull 250 for Genady though.

Mandatory, he'll get Lineal Title if Canelo refuses.

ODH already stated such. He;ll be offered a CW and GGG can take it for some REAL $$$$ or he can turn it down and kick some more cans around for awhile...

BTW have you SEEN how HEAVILY favored GGG is over Mario Lemuix??? LOL!!! Is this the best can he's fought so far??? I would of rather paid to see GGG fight Ward or Lara over this guy. I can't even make any $ off of GGG! I have to bet almost 2K to win $100!!!
I'll tell you what is wrong with it, Cotto. He has been playing keep away with the belt. GGG allowed Cotto/Canelo to fight for the belt by taking a step aside. But that was under a deal made that GGG gets winner or shot at belt.

Not shot at belt a year or two. It's a Mandatory. And Team GGG says it is 160, no step aside.

DOESNT MEAN THEY WONT TAKE 157 or something. But they don't have too.

IF GGG doesn't take the CW, Canelo refuses the fight, GGG gets MW Lineal title.

He would rather take it from Canelo, but he doesn't need it.

Once he gets Lee (who already said he'd fight GGG), he'll have unified the division.

If Canelo doesn't fight, bet Lara, Eubanks, Andrade, and Quilin all come at him. Those are good fights.

Besides, both fighters rehydrate in the 170's. Canelo rehydrates more than GGG. There won't be a weight advantage for either of them.

And GGG isn't gonna make career decisions based on what you want.

Lara yapped his way into the Canelo fight, lost. He has to come up to MW get ranked to deserve a shot at GGG

unfortunately, GGG gets only the WBC belt, NOT the lineal title.

GGG/Lemiuex beat MSG records, faster than Cotto/Margarito

If they do 200,000, it will be success.

Considering this is first and the other PPV hardly do more than 350,000.

Cotto/Canelo probably does more, but two stars and two competing nations, kind of. Mexico versus Puerto Rico.

It's actually kind optimistic. GGG hasn't been popular that long.

If they do 200,000 for first PPV. It's a huge success.

As far as selling out MSG, first off GGG hasn't sold out all the tickets yet, there is still a few hundred left, secondly MSG seats just over 19k, Cotto sells out MSG beyond maximum above 21k, GGG is trying to sell out a seating arrangement of a little over 15k which is NOT selling out MSG.

GGG is popular in his own right, and he is coming up, but he is not yet near Cotto, schit he might not even be passed Chavez Jr yet.
They will sell more than hundred just by walk ups. That's why it's considered a sell out, because really they could sell thousands of tickets just on the night of the fight.

And your wrong about the seating this fight.

But even if you were not, Cotto has big name for a long time. It's a bad comparison.

The tickets sales for the Golovkin-Lemieuix fight broke MSG records. He'll sell the entire 20,789 seat MSG.

In fact, they sold more than 6,000 in the two-day day presale, beating the totals for tWladimir Klitschko-Bryant Jennings fight and the Cotto and Margarito, which drew a 21,239.

I'm not so sure, I've read he'd be crowned lineal either way

If Cotto/Canelo vacate, then GGG will have 3/4 of the major titles at MW. It's hard to imagine he would be crowned the lineal champ.

Another competitor can take lineal championship by winning against the reigning lineal champion. That is what makes it different. He'll have three Champ belts.
The lineal champion has been described as "the man who beat the man." But if that "man" vacates to duck, then the lineal should go to GGG.

Nothing I've read seems to suggest otherwise.

                    I expect around 250k.

They better sell more than 200k. Golovkin's first PPV so if it excels 300k that's pretty good for a foreign fighter.

Think this is the first time I've ever agreed with anything Team GGG has said publically. GGG has a lotta newbie fight fans as a core base that are totally delusional and unrealistic about his currrent "star power", or lack thereof. But for a fighter with little to no casual fanbase. Combined with a laughable mismatch against a glorified club fighter. That hardcore fans that aren't diehard fans of either fighter are unlikely to buy. 200K is a very solid number.
