Being WBC 160 mandatory challenger simply affords Golovkin a ceiling of 25% of the possible bid for the fight (Cotto/Alvarez will likely offer a flat fee and rights to Germany for the fight, threatening to simply walk away, a la Floyd-Guerrero, if Team Golovkin try and push things).

56/44 off of a Golovkin-Ward PPV versus 15/85 (possibly just a flat fee) off of a Cotto/Alvarez-Golovkin PPV that has a 15% chance of getting made, the safe money takes the Ward offer [none of Golovkin's 160 belts are on the line, the Lemieux PPV fight was on the verge of being locked in, Ward would be Golovkin's biggest opponent by far, Ward-Golovkin would generate strong media attention, and, if he were able to pull it off, he'd be an instant star, getting him Cotto/Canelo afterwards.

Your value is only what people are willing to put up; Roc Nation put Golvokin's value at 50/50 while being open to negotiate.
See in RocNation's "deal" they said each fighter would get 1 more fight.
That's another tune up for Ward and GGG vs the winner of Canelo Cotto.
GGG's profile will be higher coming off a win on PPV vs the Cotto Canelo winnner. GGG will be worth more money then.
That's why RocNation are trying to go ahead and lock up the 50/50 split now, before GGG's value is higher and he will command a bigger share.
This is what I've been saying the whole time.
You can't blame RN for trying to do it that way and you also have to understand that K2 didn't fall off a turnip truck and start promoting fights yesterday lol.
No promotional company would be able to keep their top fighters signing a deal like that.

But you remember Ward could beat Klitschko, would be HW champ at 32, and was ready for top 175 way back. Now he needs 3 tuneups for top 175. No problem with that, its some p4p ****, right?
Ward fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world was an aspirational statement; just like Roy Jones Jr, Ward talked of taking a shot at the heavyweight championship of the world, regardless of who held the heavyweight title, even if that meant having to see Klitschko.

Spin the story however you want; intelligent people will see through your nonsense.

As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

The article reads that: "Yormark was unable to confirm the details, but according to multiple sources in the industry - Ward is going to move up to light heavyweight, commit to a multi-fight deal with HBO, and eventually face light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev in a high profile showdown in 2016. Ward's return is slated for the Cotto-Alvarez HBO Pay-Per-View undercard. An official announcement regarding Ward's future is coming soon, says Yormark."

So: the RN executive was unable to confirm that Ward is going to move up at 175... Anything else?

GGG was being generous to Fraudre by not holding him to word about 160, and giving him some leeway.

          CoWard, walked.
... Floyd Mayweather Jr has never fought at 160, let alone weighed in at the full 154 limit. Beyond that. Ward only even mentioned the fight after Floyd disrespected him for supporting his friend, Robert Guerrero. Funny enough, Ward reneged on the offer shortly thereafter anyway.

Golovkin has openly been calling out super middleweights at 168, yet turns utter ***** with Andre Ward, a super middleweight, is open to fighting him at 168. moving on.

          • So GGG has to move up because the talent isn't good at MW

And Ward has to move go fight a smaller guy because talent isn't there at SMW.

            Yea ok.

There's nobody at MW or above than can sell 250k by himself on HBO ppv. Canelo and Cotto barely did more recently. You put two guys like that together and you have serious ppv sales.
After the Lemiuex loss, Goldenboy isn't going to put Canelo in with GGG.

I don't see them doing it. GGG will basically walk into the Lineal title.

And the haters will scream resume.

It's like taking the ball and saying you can be a football player, you have no ball.

            Ok, crazy talk.

Ward doesn't get 55/45 favoring GGG. More like 60/40.

Canelo and GGG or Cotto/GGG will be a mandatory.

If Cotto or Canelo are unreasonable, like 15/85, it will go to purse bid.

No matter what, it's a bigger fight than Ward.

Especially considering what he gets, the lineal MW title. Ranking from Ring Mag. Etc.

Then he can go for unification of all belts. Lee!

Once he gets that, my guess everyone will want to fight him, because he'll be money.

He can fight big fights for two years before having to go up to 168.

My guess is Lara, Andrade, Etc. will move up when GGG gets all those belts.

Hunter said HW champ by 32. Looks like that aspiration fell by the wayside. Floyd at 160, ready for top LHWs. lemme guess, all aspirational.

              • After 36min no like that - If Bob Arum was Andre's promoter He would run a smear campaign against GGG calling him coward using all the connections and media resources he has in his arsenal. GGG would be dubbed a coward and forced to fight Ward.

Not only Hunter... It was Ward himself who also said that he would like to finish career at HW:

In the same interview, Ward said that Chavez Jr. is "a hell of a fighter"...

                    That's not truthful.

GGG has not been openingly calling out MW.

Abel made a comment, some how people seem to think that means open ended taking a fight with whoever decides they want too.

GGG never discussed a catch weight, his management and Dan did, it became an article. No one ever demanded Ward take that.

In fact the funny thing is, Roc basically just confirmed what Team GGG said.

That Ward sent a Email, they turned it down. Because they had other plans.

Roc is desperate to acomplish two things:

Get Ward some Bradley needed attention.

Get GGG out of the way for Cotto to continue is run as Lineal MW champ.

They got one, all Cotto fans suddenly became Ward fans.

It's kind of funny, because a blind man can see why.

So since you hold GGG to what Abel said, what about what Hunter said

Ward supporters have been ignoring this all night. Ward was supposed to be fighting HW by now. He should just skip LHW and go straight for the big guy.

Or is Ward ducking Wladimir Klitschko?

It's funny how selective their memory is.

It's clear to me that Cotto/Canelo fans have joined Wards three other fans.

Cotto is ducking GGG as his mandatory. That's it.
