An Exclusive HBO Contract has no benefits, if anything it seems keep someone like Kovalev from reaching his full earning potential if anything. HBO is important to boxing don't get me wrong, both HBO and Showtime is needed for the sport of boxing because it is no way you can squeeze all of these fighters on just 1 Network and give everybody their air time. However, that Exclusive Deal with HBO for Kovalev is holding that man back because in his Division, HBO has nothing for him, I guess they will try to show Kovalev vs Pascal II down our throats

Sullivan Barrera is available for Kovalev (he can't fight in Canada so he won't be fighting the proposed IBF eliminator vs Beterbiev).

Kathy Duva and HBO should keep their promises to him, and let him fight on HBO in late November or December.
Sullivan Barrera isn't fighting Beterbiev now, so why not make Kovalev-Barrera? Duva promotes them both, so she could make it if she really wants to.
It's a good balance for boxers like himself to have a good time with their family and box. It's good for their mind. He fought twice, he is in his 30s, that's fine. Responsible professionals like Mayweather, Ward, Kovalev, don't need to worry about inactivity like other boxers do. When you are away from the ring, what you are doing during this inactivity is what matters. If Kovalev will be drinking beer and letting himself go, that's bad. Will he do that? No, so no it does not matter. He'll be back early next year and he'll be fine.
