Dariusz M is on the list again, and deserves to get in.
But once again, he'll be overlooked.
Julio Cesar Gonzalez should get in. He beat Dariusz M, took his 0, also beat Glen Johnson, Montell Griffin. His only loss in his prime was against the god-like figure, Roy "GOAT" Jones Jr.

That was a faded old Dariusz he beat.
He never had anything like the undefeated 48-0 run that Dariusz had, nor the long list of successful consecutive title defenses.
There have always been some (IMO) questionable picks like McGuigan, Gatti, Mancini...the overwhelming majority inducted have the merit. I think the saturation argument is overstated. Boxing isn't football. There is no multi-billion $ body to underwrite the enterprise. What we have is imperfect but still outstanding. And less inductees doesn't really solve for matinee idol picks. There were flat better fighters on the ballot. The way voting works, it's top 3 vote getters. There is no 'needs 70%' or whatever threshold. I don't like that but I've heard it defended by those who point to this as a sport predicated on individual draws more than any other. There's more than one way to look at it.
I absolutely agree with your argument, and think that yearly votes are fine.
I think people point to just a few questionable HOF picks unfairly. Gatti comes up almost everytime a discussion about a fighter's merit into the HOF is brought up and it's weak everytime that it is.
Hernandez doesn't belong in the hall of fame, it would be shameful if he was inducted.
shameful is a bit of a stretch.....I can only imagine how you felt about Graziano, Gatti, and Barry McGuigan getting in....he sure deserves it more than they did.
If he doesn't get in it wont be a travesty considering there are more deserving guys but there is also guys less deserving in....oh well, that's the IBHOF for ya
I think all 3 are pretty good picks....Camacho is a shoe in.....Camacho was one the elite p4p fighters of the 80's....tooo bad all people remember is the outfits, ring entrances, and his losses when he was past prime to JCC, Trinidad and DLH
I personally think he would have beat JCC had they fought in the 80's when they were @ 130 and 135....that Camacho was one of the most talented fighters I've ever seen

being involved in as many fights of the year as gatti and graziano were is an accomplishment worth remembering. mcguigan is remembered for his popularity and social significance. hernandez had a good career but is he really someone that you will tell your grandkids about?
