The point is, irrespective of comp level, Wilder fought his voluntaries BEFORE the negotiation date that the wbc ordered. That shows that he intended to fight Povetkin as per wbc schedule and instructions. In other words, Wilder's actions correlate with his words.

However, Povetkin's actions do not correlate with his words. He says he wants wilder but chooses to fight someone else a full month AFTER negitiations? Dies that look like the actions of someone who wants a title fight to you?

Like I said, Wilder's actions correlate with his words, povetkin's dont. There was absolutely nothing wrong with wilder taking stay busy fights before negotiation date and you know it, but there is everything wrong with Povetkin taking his own voluntary fight a whole month after negotiation started, and again, you know this. Povetkin had a lot of time to set this fight up but he didn't, instead he orchestrated this so he can have an excuse, and now the champ is supposed to bend over backwards for the challenger? Please, what world are you living in?
Yes a man doesn't want a title shot, thats why he went through not one, but two eliminators.

lol yes let the man come into the fight not having fought in ages to help Wilder's chances, wouldn't you like that? I mean, Wilder has to stop fighting the buffet patrons at some point, right?

Yes, the guy that just fought Klitschko, is scared to fight ****ing Deontay Wilder, a windmilling drunk who was seconds from being layed out by "the little drummer boy" Eric Molina before he remembered that they would take his free buffet vouchers away if he knocked him out.

You're doing good, I'll give you that, but you're still a long ways to go from the elite Wilder ball garglers on here.
Keep your chin up though. You'll get there eventually, you've definitely got the passion and dedication for it.

I agree with thhis post here. I just think its bad for wilder to keep fighting opponents like Molina and duahapas. He needs to step up in comp for the December fight.

WBC/TBRB #1 rated heavyweight Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21 KOs) faces WBC #13 Polish battler Mariusz Wach (31-1, 17 KOs) on November 4 in Kazan, Russia, but there’s another boxer that he wished to fight on the same date instead of Wach. Povetkin is the mandatory challenger to WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, who returns on September 26th against French contender Johann Duhaupas.

According to Dmitry Ivanov, a sport director of “World of Boxing” promotional company, who also acts as a manager for 2004 Athens Olympics super heavyweight gold medalist Alexander Povetkin, negotiations between Team Povetkin and Team Wilder are under way but aren’t moving forward quickly enough. Says Ivanov in his interview with R-Sport: “We are waiting, which terms promoters will agree to. Our goal is to provide such a camp that Sasha will be in his best shape to the date, accommodated by the parties. We aren’t excluding an intermediate fight in between. It’s unlikely, however, that Sasha will step back to the ring in September. “We cannot speak firmly about any specific date in regards to Povetkin vs. Wilder. Once again, it all depends on negotiations. We don’t yet know if there will be a purse bid or not. We are ready to fight in any place at any time. But negotiations are rather slow, sluggish at the moment.”

they have been chasing wilder since the perez win but wilder's team refused to negotiate and have colluded with the wbc to delay the mandatory defence for as long as possible. i'm pretty sure that if the wbc had enforced their rules properly, then wilder would have had to face povetkin after molina, i.e. like 6 months earlier than it will actually occur if it occurs at all. you have to ask yourself why the reluctance

From what I understand it will be in Povetkin's best interest for the fight to go to purse bids.

wilder is going to lose to povetkin. he still needs to learn how to box. he shows flashes of serious talent. he's a gigantic guy who can move like a much smaaller one when the stars align.

i also think he's hurt his right hand to the point that he can no longer throw it with abandon. he pulls the punch now.

Wilder could make $5-10 million on this fight; that's payday you cannot turn down.

As to the thread topic: the silver lining on Wilder taking another 'voluntary' defense is that he's an active champion. Winning a major title (the WBC) and then defending it 3 times in one year is virtually unheard of, in today's boxing environment.

I'm a fan of Wilder's (but not a fan of him procrastinating the Povetkin fight) and it's pretty nice seeing the guy in action every 3 months.
Tell that to Peter Quillin who Haymon made turn down a career high payday.

Everyone is quiet. Deontay on the other hand called out Fury, he even tried to convince Fury on twitter to fight him instead of Klitschko before the fight was made. He stated after Dehaupus fight " I want Kliitschko by the end of 2016, people gotta be patient because we both mandatories (povetkin and fury)that we gotta take care of.

Why ain't they lining up for Wilder? The champ ain't supposed to call people out, he supposed to be called out. Deontay is calling out the 'real' champ Klitschko's, but nobody calling him out. Who's the one ducking strong comp?
                This is bullshit.

Wilder tweeted that he wanted to defend against Fury, and Fury responded, saying that he would definitely take the fight if they sent him an offer, but he never got an offer.

It was just talk from Wilder, nothing more.

Wlad has said many times that he would fight Wilder if he got the chance. He even requested that the WBC made him mandatory for the winner of Wilder/Stiverne, but was turned down.

If Haymon thought Wilder was ready for Fury and Wlad, do you really think he would be pissing around trying to sell fights with guys like Molina and Duhaupas?

                Lol. GTFOH!

Pffft, Wilder. His last fight on PBC via NBC apparently drew the worse ratings the series has had on a primetime network. Now not wanting to face his mandatory and making excuses isn't going to draw you any more interest in your next outing.

I'll go ahead and call it now. IF Wilder is allowed another voluntary, I'd bet dinner that he gets some kind of "injury" in that fight, an injury that will magically clear up the second Povetkin signs for another fight.........

Wilder is a clown with a 34 IQ Wlad is the Champ

Wilder isn't any champion and Wilder is more of a cartoon character clowning around in boxing fighting bums and acting like a cartoon character and acting like Wilder is 10 years. Wilder is not very bright and needs constant care and monitoring. Funny watching Wilder act goofy. 1+2=21 for Wilder
