I think we all knew dam well GGG was going to turn down the fight right now. Not just because he probably doesn't even really want that fight, but also because he wants Cotto/Canelo winner and has been assured that fight by Sulaiman. Unless Ward was talking about a fight mid to late 2016 though it doesn't sound like it because he is suggesting that it was going to be a next move for him.

So ultimately I don't buy this act from Ward either - if you make an offer to a fighter who already has made it clear what their next move is and expect anything other than getting your offer turned down than you are trippin. Not to say that GGG or his team aren't afraid of that fight, because they probably are.

EDIT: I'm only 3 minutes into the video right now, so maybe he clarifies something I haven't heard yet.

.... Sulaiman can't guarantee a fight with Cotto-Canelo winner; the best he can do is guarantee that Golovkin gets a shot at the WBC 160 belt (and I have no doubt that Sulaiman would also be happy to sanction Cotto-Canelo2 for the WBC silver 154 belt at the same time)

So, before anything was announced in terms of Golovkin-Lemieux, Team Ward proposed Ward taking a fight (say in November), Golovkin taking a fight (say in October), and then fighting each other after that (say, to open up the new MGM Arena in April).... and Team Golovkin said no.
