    Williams was a contender

HOFer vs HOFer> HOFer vs contender with trinket
Not scared to fight but concerned that Floyd would lose his precious "0".

As for excuse about Williams record:
Williams had fought many fights at 147 and 154. Floyd could have fought him at either weight but didn't. Similar story with Sergio Martinez. Remember that Floyd moved up 3 times to 154. Before, during and after .... SO there goes another of your excuses. Both Martinez and Williams called him out on different occasions.

    Back to Williams record.
Now lets compare, shall we, with who Floyd fought before, during and after:
    - Marquez = 0 fights at 140 and 147
    - Ortiz = 1 fight at 147
    - Guerrero = 0 fights at 140 and 2 fights at 147
    - Sharmba = 1 fight at WW
    - Hatton = 1 fight at 147

Khan would have got the fight too but he blew the fight with Garcia then didn't fight Alexander..... Khan was proposed as a Floyd opponent after 0, 1, 2 fights at WW.

The same goes with Maidana. Does beating Berto I mean Broner give you the shot? Maidana lost to Devon! Badly! No rematch win to revenge his loss!

Remember that the above counts are TOTAL fights at WW for actual opponents of Floyd. Williams had a lot more fights at those weights than the 3 that you mentioned. So AGAIN, there goes your lousy excuse!

Finally, we have the upcoming fight with Berto. Does Berto deserve the fight?

So again, we know your agenda and you failed miserably!

And calling people out is one of the most silly things boxing fans get excited about. I don't recall everyone in the divisions schedule at that moment in time, but I know within a couple months Williams was never seen at 147 again.

Things tend to take time in boxing like it or not & Williams & his hardcore fans showed little patience at 147 for how little he did. Williams & his fans talking about everyone avoiding him after one major win & an avenged L is like a guy after 2 months at the job talking about how little money is in his 401k.
Lol. Patience. If you had a Mexican fighter that threw 1000 punches per fight and beat Margarito he would need a week to recharge after the massive ****riding. I can't believe dudes are this in denial. Only fighters like Williams and Lara have to play by the rules and go above and beyond with 0 margin of error.

Meanwhile, Ortiz and Guerrero get passes and elevated immediately after one big win. I wonder why?

"It's not about nationality. Guerrero is a 6 time world champion in 4 different weight classes".lol.

I see you are now deflecting!

JMM was in the same boat for the longest time. He was being avoided by the bigger names. Would you have said the same about him? People knew he was being avoided because he was good and could spoil it for others.

Williams was avoided. You just can't handle the truth! Sergio Martinez was supposed to be Floyd's Plan B if no Manny fight but again Floyd wanted no part of Martinez.

"Paul Williams, in his 11th year in the professional boxing ring, is widely acknowledged as the world's third best fighter, pound for pound.

But, aside from Martinez, foes steer clear of Williams.

"They call him the 'Punisher' but Paul is the one who gets punished because these other guys won't fight him," manager-trainer George Peterson said at a New York press conference Thursday.

At age 29, with 40 pro bouts behind him, Williams' patience is growing thin.

"I don't think Floyd Mayweather will fight me anytime," Williams said. "Manny Pacquiao, he might do it, he might step up but not Floyd.

            "I guess Floyd won't fight me because I don't have a vagina."

"If Floyd went to Al and said, "Hey, I want to fight Paul Williams, what can Al do? But Floyd is not going to ever say that. Pacquiao, he fights bigger guys, he's different than Mayweather so maybe I will get to fight him."

Like many others, Williams thinks Mayweather's obsession is being undefeated.

"Floyd ranks himself with Ray Robinson, with Joe Louis, all these guys..but all those great guys, they all lost sometime. Mayweather won't take a hard fight, he won't take the chance of losing."

            Peterson's assessment is similar.

"Pacquiao, he loves to fight. Mayweather is his own manager, he's a smart businessman. Paul is not old enough for Floyd to fight. Floyd likes to wait until a guy is old. Pacquiao is more gutsy than Floyd is," Peterson said.

He was big and had amazing workrate I think he would have lost to Mosley , probably beats Cotto

I hear people say he is the only one that could have taken Mayweather zeros but don't think his size would have mattered against Floyd PW never fought tall

Against someone like Floyd, he didn't need to fight tall. William's length would put Floyd in reach to hit with his 1000+ punch count. THat was William's game. His crazy work rate.

Hmmm, maybe you were not around as much back then but everyone but you seems to know that Williams was being avoided and had to try to find his fights in any of 3 divisions. Is that according to me? No, that is what Williams and his team would say in their interviews. "I can fight at 147, 154 and 160"

I provided quotes from Williams and his team calling out Floyd. So again, it is not me but quotes from them! Be it at 147 or 154, Floyd NEVER wanted to fight Williams.

BTW - in that same article, Williams says "I can make 147 (pounds) for Floyd or for Manny" but again, Floyd has moved up to fight at 154 in 2007, 2012 and 2013. So stop with them excuses.
