Is that according to me? No, that is what Williams and his team would say in their interviews. "I can fight at 147, 154 and 160"

I provided quotes from Williams and his team calling out Floyd. So again, it is not me but quotes from them! Be it at 147 or 154, Floyd NEVER wanted to fight Williams.
Yea he was so avoided that he lost to Lara(robbery)....quintana....Martinez by ko

Pbf Lineal @ 154 and ring and the 3 fights he had there were huge....PW ain't do shyt @ 154 ...no title....could've took an L by Dec vs maravilla

Dude was not tommy hearns man

Thing is he gets hit alot and usually fought in pocket his reach wouldn't have been much of a factor he probably would catch Floyd couple of times throwing from an awkward angle but PW didn't have that kind of power

I liked Paul Williams but he had serious flaws that a skilled boxer would take advantage off

All 3 were southpaws. Floyd is not.

Still, Quintana and Martinez were not having no field day with Williams. Lara happened after that KO, so that can be understandable after that setback.

BTW - The article said Williams was P4P #3. Not good enough for you? Where is Berto ranked in 2015?

Williams had some problems with southpaws but Floyd is not a southpaw fighter. Even against Quintana, he adjusted and KOd him. Martnez had some pop that Floyd does not. So to say that Martinez had the equalizer that Floyd does not have. Even then, Martinez had just as much of a tough time than Williams. It was not a walk in the park.

Floyd would bring nothing to the table to get the respect. Williams didn't care if it was Margarito, Martinez, ..... so Floyd would not be fighting comfortably. That would spell trouble for Floyd.

            A) every opponents punch output dropped vs mayweather
            B) southpaw or orthodox Williams stood square with no head movement and dropped his rear hand when swinging the other....no matter the angle of stance he was susceptible to str8 shots

You think the pbf couldn't pick up on that but o did

Why do you think he got beat up n hard fights at the world level

No defense, threw arm punches and didnt utilize his gifts

Heavyweight dimensions but wanted to fight like a squat guy

That article is hot garbage and you need to form your own opinion watching for yourself

Williams has barely been top 3 in a division let alone top 3 p4p

There was no time he was ever top 5 on the planet IDC if Bert sugar wrote that bull....Williams was a good fighter n fun to watch.... World class for his time, nothing special or great....his record, skills, fights, strengths n weaknesses illustrate that

So you just confirmed that you were not around much back then. Go do some more research. Williams was avoided and there are plenty of articles and interviews to back that up. Heck, everyone over here is also telling you that!!!

Also, you bring up Williams record but I pointed out to you that Floyd fought plenty of opponents that had less experience at WW. In fact, some had NONE, some had 1 fight and maximum 2 fights and that was good enough for Floyd. Even if they were considered a relatively unknown fighter!!!!

              Proof?

paul Williams would've beaten the **** out of pac and floyd in the same night...too long of a reach, too big, too strong, too good (not better p4p) but he was just physically superior than both

Let's be real...I hope you have your own brain, I have mine...ring magazine, ko mag n these websites aren't the end all be all ..watch the fighters fight

                  Broner wasn't p4p material

                  GGG isn't p4p material

                  Williams was never P4p material

                  Guerrero wasn't

                  Canelo wasn't

                  Vernon Forrest wasn't

How the hell was Hopkins ever p4p #1 in anyone's eyes after beating Tito when Roy kicked his ass and ass across 3 weights up til he got the 4th in 03...Floyd had 2 lineal titles back then 11 total defenses while Hopkins who held on to a trinket from 95...pbf beat better overall comp n Roy did.... One big win isn't enough

P4p is opinion based....IMO Williams was good not p4p...his resume is OK

Beating a past prime winky weight n barely getting the nod over Martinez is p4p material? Was he "p4p" for even a year
