the man the myth the legend...Paul Williams at 147

When he was at this weight he was a prospect and went 2-1 vs top ten guys

Beat Margo in 07 and lost to and beat Carlos quintana n moved to 154 before the end of 08

After that its a huge drop off in comp...beat sharmba Mitchell almost a year after mayweather did, beat Olympian Terrance cauthen, and Alphonso Sanchez

I'm sure some of you never heard of them guys

Why do people act like he was some avoided monster when he didn't do much at the weight, his best wins are 154 n up

Mosley, Judah, mayweather, cotto were the top guys he never faced any of them

He was a huge ww but fought like he was 5'6".... Chin in the air, arm punches, leaky defense....only threat was his height reach n size...his skills were lacking

I doubt the best ww in the world was avoiding a guy who lost to Carlos quintana, who was decent but lost to most of the other good fighters he faced not named paul

No denying that he had a ton of weaknesses but his size, durability and workrate compensated for that and it made him into a dangerous WW.

He was beating guys with 1-2 losses maybe 3 on their record who were ranked or coming up (consistently) even up to his latter years.

Wasn't Margarito considered unstoppable when Williams beat him? (May have been using plaster wraps on top of that, too)

I hate when people do this. You can't criticize a fighters' opposition when the top guys avoid him. He beat Margarito then couldn't land a step up from there.

Your boy Floyd should have fought him and made easy work of Paul Williams.

^^^^^This. At the time Carlos Quintana was the only one with the balls to get in the ring with him at his peak and after Margarito.

I still remember Berto's response when Williams called him out, he said he was planning on fighting at 140

Props to Quintana for the win but Williams clearly took him lightly. But he avenged it immediately in spectacular fashion so I don't get why he's penalized for that.

Man...The Punisher was one of my favourite boxers back then. He was so awkward for his opponents. He was really tall and gangly and used to hit fighters from different angles. I'll always remember that unorthodox uppercut he hit Winky Wright with...honestly you have to see the shot, it's crazy. Was going to fight Canelo before his accident..so sad his career was cut short, he was one of the good guys.
