I don't even understand his logic. Okay you think Marciano @ 49-0 would be better than Mayweather @ 50-0. Fair enough. We all got our opinions & while I wouldn't agree with this, I'm sure a solid argument could be made for it cuz you can always wreck one guys resume & build up another guys resume. Thats damn near an art form on boxing forums.

But with the logic of Marciano did it at HW being the reason makes zero sense to me. If anything HW seems like a less competitive division than Welterweight & some of the other divisions Mayweather competed in & certainly facing many of the top guys in 5 divisions over the better part of two decades is superior than facing many of the top names in 1 division over the few years Marciano was on top.

Don't be an insecure fangirl. Of course it's comparable, both were undefeated with their best wins against past prime fighters. Now go ahead and find "legit""reasons why it's not like your fellow fangirl above who says Mayweather's record is better because he fights at the lower weights...

To say that Serena Williams is greater than Roger Federer is a borderline ******ity, born in some feminist brain. By the same token, Mayweather can't be better than Marciano. Hagler has a good point...
how the hell does what u are saying make any sense? both floyd and marciano are male professional fighters. both fought in the pro ranks and both were champions. the only difference between them is that they fought in different divisions.

Heavyweight division is what was called "Absolute champion" a while ago. It means that there is no weight restriction. In this sense Heavyweight is not your regular division.

dude you are ****ing ******ed. one one case you have two p4p top welterweights fighting each other at roughly the same time in their career. In the other you have one prime champion fighting a semi retired ex champion far past his best days and only fighting for a paycheck. Tell me how the hell you consider any similarities between those two instances.

never have I ever heard that. And even if it was the case, it means nothing. That’s not how resumes are judged in boxing. You don't get extra points for fighting at heavyweight. Which is why very few people consider a heavyweight the greatest boxer in history.

Ultimately, in my opinion anyway, it comes down to, was beating a past prime Charles/Moore/Walcott better than beating past prime Pacquiao/DLH/Cotto/Mosley?
Ok let's say it's arguable between those 4 wins.

Now tell me what wins Marciano has to compare with Corrales, Castillo, Hatton, Hernandez, Canelo, Judah, Chavez, Maidana etc.

That's what the argument boils down to. And you either agree that this makes Valuev a better fighting man than Duran or you disagree.

Whichever side of the fence you stand on says a lot about what you value in a boxer.
